Memorandum To: From: Date: Re: Employees Administration April 2, 2014 Revised Separation Date At a special Board of Directors’ Meeting on March 31, 2014, the decision was made to delay the target closing date of the San Diego Opera Association’s operations from April 14 to April 29, 2014. The Directors voted to provide an extra two weeks to evaluate options to proceed with the 2015 season and to raise additional funds. As a result, we are withdrawing the separation letter dated March 21, 2014. We hope the Board is successful. If not, however, most jobs will be eliminated on April 29, although things out of our control may change that date. We want you to know that no matter what the job elimination date, the Opera will pay you through May 19, 2014—which is 60 days from the WARN notice you received on March 19, 2014. The Opera will provide health insurance coverage through May 31. And it will not ask for a Release of all claims. To maximize the chances of the Board’s success, we should commit to work together and communicate coordinated and accurate messages to the public. If you have any questions, please contact us.
