REQUEST FOR OFF-SITE SEARCH AUTHORIZATION For the following reasons, the execution oft-his warrant may take a great deal of time and require a secure facility, special. equipment, and software: 1) It is unknown what operating system. is running the compute?s) that is subject of this warrant and, therefore, it will take time to determine how the operating system permits access to data. 2) The amount: of data that may be stored in the hard drives and removable storage devices is enormous, and the number or size of the hard chi and removable storage devices that will have to be searched pursuant to this warrant is not known. The data may be or inaccessible without a password, and may be protected by programming, all of which take time to bypass. Because data stored on a computer can be destroyed or altered rather easily. either intentionally or accidentally, the search must be conducted carefully and in a secure environment. To prevent alteration of data and insure the integrity of the search, clones (master copies) of all data storage devices will be made. The clones (master copies) will then be searched and this process will take time and special equipment. Furthermore, a onwsite search may pose a severe hardship on all people who [live][work] on the premises. Lee told Erin they were going, to have a special day together and he would be taking Erin to an undisclosed. location, approximately two hours from 29 Palms. Lee told Erin he was going to take her hunting. It is highly likely Erin could have been harmed by an unknown ?rearm. Sometime alter En?n left with Lee> her phone was deactivated (turned oft). Detectives believe if Erin was injured and tell at an undisclosed location, she would not able to call for help. Lee was rte-contacted by Deputies Mackewen and Millian. They were scheduled to be gone from their homes for approximately the same amount of time on 062814. According to Trenthan, Erin was going to spend the day with Lee, but Lee denied spending any time with Erin on 062814. Trenthan is concemed for Erin?s safety, as . she did not return from the day trip with Lee. 0n 063014, Erin?s vehicle was located abandoned off of" Ranch Road and Valle Vista Drive in 29 Palms. Nicole stated Lee was worried because he did not have an alibi for 062914. Nicole had also berated Lee in front of Isabella about not being able to keep his lies straight when he was interviewed by detectives because he was dumb. Nicole stated she was able to keep her story straight and the detectives did not get any infonnation from her. Isabella told detectives about her association with Lee and Nicole and how they were staying in a cabin on her property at 788 Geronimo. Isabella said. they have been moving items into this cabin since 070114 when their residence was searched. Isabella. also said they have been putting some of" their belongings into the main structure at 733 Geronimo across from the location. While detectives were getting this information. Lee and Nicole pulled up to the property. Nicole was driving a white ?'Uhaul? moving truck with Arizona license plate number A 13 year old girl named Jaclyn Watson was riding as a passenger in this vehicle. Nicole stopped this vehicle outside the vehicle gate of 788 Geronimo. Lee was driving a cream color Ford F250. This vehicle belongs to Isabella but was loaned to Lee to assist in completing their move. Lee stopped the vehicle inside the pinperty at 788 Geronimo. Upon seeing the detectives were at the location, Lee quickly grabbed a black duffel bag item the vehicle and took it inside the main residence at 788 Geronimo. When he came out Nicole ran up to Lee and began to talk to him. Detectives witnessed. this behavior and believed they were concealing evidence and discussing further plans of action to likely conceal or destroy evidence. Upon speaking to Jaelynn, she told detectives she was helping Lee and Nicole move. told detectives she observed a potato gun in Lee?s garage and the potato gun was now inside the green Honda Civic with California license plate This vehicle is currently parked to the front 01?788 Geronimo near where Nicole parked the Uhaul.
