Agent arrests have decreased 2.8 percent from the same time period last year; however, a cause of particular concern is the increase in arrests for drug- and alcohol?related offenses, and domestic violence. Review your sector arrests and develop tactics to address the topic at musters and leadership meetings. Encourage open and proactive discussions with all agents and employees regarding what we expect as a standard of conduct while continuing education into assistance programs that are available to every CBP employee. Examples that may provide support and alternative assistance to agents and employees struggling with dif?cult or stressful situations include alcohol-awareness training, the Employee Assistance Program, BP WorkLife4You resources, the Peer Support Program, the Agent Support Program, and the Border Patrol Chaplaincy Program. There also are a variety of ?tness, health, and employee resilience initiatives. Attachment Agent Arrest Analysis Fiscal Year 2014, Third Quarter, Year? to-Date 14 Q3 YTD) The following observations for FY 14 Q3 YTD and comparisons to FY 13 Q3 YTD utilize data available from of?cial systems of recordYTD, comparative analysis revealed an overall decrease (V in the number of agents arrested. compared to the same period last year. The number of arrests for Drug/Alcohol RelatedI offenses increased (A while those arrests which carried specific charges WI remained steady comprising 42% ofrhe tom! agent arrests. There was an increase in arrests for Domestic Violence (A while arrests for Other crimes decreased 21.8%) from the same period last year. In FY 13, Q3, YTD, there were 107 instances of agent arrests reported. Of those arrests, 51 were drug/alcohol related; 24 were for domestic violence; and 32 carried other charges. in FY 14, Q3, YTD, there have been 104 agent arrests reported.
