My name is Detective St. Louis County Police Department. This interview is in reference to an officer-involved shooting referenced under St. Louis County Police Report Number 14- 43984. The person being interviewed is a, how you say your first name? with a date of birth of This interview is taking place in a, her apartment which she shares with Um, ma?am can you tell me, we spoke earlier reference what you saw. Is that correct? Yes sir. And, you-you provided me a statement? Yes sir. Okay, and now you willing to record that statement, correct? Yes sir. Okay. Can you tell me in your own words, um, where you were and when you were made aware of the situation and then what-what you witnessed when you did look. I was in my kitchen eating on the phone with my little sister and my fianc? yelled from the bedroom, "Baby, look out the window they?re shootin?.? I run to my patio and look out the window. As I?m lookin? out my window, see a, a African-American gentleman running away from a-a Caucasian officer and the Caucasian officer was walkin? behind him steady opening fire shootin? and as um, he was shootin? whenever I asked my fianc?, I said, "Well, I guess the guy got away because I don't see him walkin? anymore.? So, the next thing I know, I see the African-American guy walkin? back down facing the Caucasian officer. And, see him walkin?, opens up my front door and go out on my patio and see the Caucasian officer steady opening fire, aiming at the African-American guy?s chest area. While standing there lookin?, I assumed, I figured that they had tased him and he just was resisting. He wasn't going down but then when I talked to my fianc? he said that it was actually gunshots and maybe like he shot 'em two more times and that?s when the guy tipped over. The officer walked up, shot him three more times and the dude just tipped over head first and his head smashed into the pavement. Okay. Um, you see you see any other people out there when this happened? Yes. There were other peoples outside as well on their patio watching as well. Okay, and you said a, did the, um, gentleman who was a, shot by the officer, did he have anything in his hands that you saw? He didn?t have anything in his hands. Nothing at all. Okay. Um, now you-you watched but were they already out of the vehicle by the time you saw? Yes by the time I saw the-the commotion they was already, the officer was already out of the vehicle and at this time, I saw the-the African- American guy running up the street and the officer was walkin? behind him opening fire. Okay. Is there anything you wanted to add to that statement? And when the guy, once he tipped over and he hit the pavement, you saw his body like flinchin? like he was tryin? to get up and after that he stopped movin? and the officer stepped back away from the body and that was-that was it.
