With me is Detective and we are speaking with juvenile DET. Can you say that one more time, DET. And, his father who is identified DET. And his father?s girlfriend who is identified DET would you please, uh, take myself and Detective through everything that you heard and saw today. Yeah, um, I was listening to the music off the TV and then I paused it 'cause I heard some screamin? and stuff so I looked out the window and I saw a man with his hands in a police car tryin? to snatch it away and then he got away. He pulled out the taser and tried to tase him but he missed. Then he pulled out the gun and tried to shoot him and he missed. Then he ran down the street and then he shot him once and I stopped lookin? but I heard like four or five more shots. Then when I looked back out there he was laying on the ground. DET. Okay, and right now, we?re inside your father?s residence. What?s that address? DET. So you're in this, uh, upstairs apartment the whole time? Uh huh. DET. And the viewpoint you described to me and that you?ve shown us is that you are at, uh, the double sliding DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. Yeah. by, uh, blinds that run vertically. Um, you said the gentleman had his hand in the police car? Uh huh. Uh, any idea what he might have been trying to do? He was actually reaching within the driver?s window of the police car? All I saw was his hand like enter and he was tryin? to like pull away from him. But, I don't have no idea what he was doin?. Was the police vehicle door shut at this time? Yeah, it was shut. Yeah, it was shut. The police vehicle door was shut. Was the police officer inside or outside the vehicle? He was inside. Okay. Okay. And, that police vehicle, the one we pointed out to you, uh, that?s diagonally in the middle of the street still, that?s just as you saw the vehicle at the time of the incident? Yeah. Yes. Okay, uh, can you break it down what happened after you saw that, uh, gentleman reaching into the police car. Was he alone? Was he with anyone? Well, he was with one other person. Okay. Was this person to the left or right side of-of that person? The right-the right. Now, the person reaching inside the car, can you describe that person for us? DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET DET. DET. ET. ET. Um, he was kinda he was dark skinned, low cut, had on some yellow and black socks, some cargo shorts and I don?t know what color shirt he had on. What color are the cargo shorts? Like some khaki. Khaki color. Okay, cargo shorts. Did he have any objects in his hands that you could tell? No. Okay. How about, describe the, uh, the guy he was with. Um, he had dreads and he had on a black shirt and that?s all I could remember about him. Have you ever seen anyone of these two individuals before? No. Oh, okay. Um, do you ever hear that, that second individual ever yelling anything, saying anything? No. Nothing? Okay. After uh, after the first one reaches into the police car, can you take us through again what-what happened after that? Um, he pulled out his, well he pulled away, then the police officer pulled out his taser and tried to tase him but he missed. Did the police officer, and I?ll stop you in just one second. Did the police officer exit his vehicle before he pulled out his taser No he was still in. He was still inside the vehicle, he pulls out his taser. Uh huh. Okay. And, he shoots at him? Yeah. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. Do you know, did he hit him with the taser or not? No, he missed. Missed him. Yeah. Can you describe the taser? Did you actually see the Yeah. the policeman?s hand? I saw the little thing come out. Was the taser yellow, black? It was black. Black taser. Yeah. Okay. Then what'd you see? Then I saw him pull out his gun and I heard a shot. Now did the, did the police officer ever exit his car or not? No, he was still in the car but he opened the door to shoot and then he got out when the, um, the man ran, then he shot him. Okay. Then I stopped lookin? and I heard like four to five shots. Then I looked again and he was on the ground. Okay. Bleeding. So, how many shots did you actually see, uh, take place? One, but I heard several. Uh, the that the one from the police vehicle when he was trying to open the door. That's the only shot you saw? 5 DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. Yeah, that?s the only shot I saw. Okay. Did you see where the other individual ran to? Yeah, he ran into one of them complexes. Can you describe that complex for us? Um, it was one of Over here to the left? Yeah. Okay, so from your vantage point it would Straight, it was like.. just north, northwest ofthe location of the police Yeah. the policeman exited from and the altercation started? Yeah. Okay. After that original shot when that officer is still in the car, uh, you said he starts to get out. Uh huh. And the young man, he starts to run away. And, you heard additional shots but you didn?t see ?em? Yeah. I heard but I didn't see. You looked away at that point? Uh huh. Then Why did you, uh, why did you look away? DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. Cause, I looked away because I?m like I thought he already had like, caught him and put him in handcuffs and everything. But, then I heard several more shots sol looked again and he was on the ground, bleeding. If you saw the individual that was with the deceased, um, would you be able to identify that person? I saw the back of him. You saw the back of him. Yeah. Ididn?t like see the front. You never saw, never saw his face? No, I ain?t never saw his face. Did you, uh, did that police vehicle, did that move at all from the first time you saw it or that?s exactly how it's positioned through the entire incident? That's exactly how it?s positioned. Okay. And, upon you first looking outside, you don?t know what leads up to that man reaching into the police car? Yeah, I don?t know what, know what happened. Okay. And then as he runs that way down the Uh huh. your attention is diverted. You think the incident?s and you heard about how many additional shots after that? Like four to five. Did you hear any verbal exchanges between the policeman and that gentleman? I heard him screamin' when he he shot him. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. And that-that was the screamin? we talked about earlier where it was just screaming in pain. There was not actual verbiage coming out, was there? No. Did you ever hear the officer give, uh, yell any orders or anything? No, no I didn?t hear the officer. Is there any chance that any conversation between the two would have been, uh, drowned out by surrounding noise whether it be the or if you were listening to music? It probably was but I had the T.V. paused though. Okay. While this incident took place, did you see any other people standing around outside, people in cars? Yeah, I saw a couple cars tryin? to get through, Couple cars-couple cars trying to get through. Uh huh. Can you describe those calls for us? I saw a blue, um, I think (36, I think. It?s a newer model, older model? It?s a older model. Pontiac G6. Uh huh. Okay. Two-door or four-door? It was four-door. Could you tell if it had Missouri license plates, Illinois license plates? No. Ididn?t look at all that. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. DET. Unknown-unknown plates. Okay. What-what and you saw another vehicle? Yeah. Can you describe that vehicle? It was a white Pontiac, a white Pontiac. White Pontiac. Yeah. Two-door or four-door? A four-door. Any plates on that vehicle? Yeah. But, I wouldn't, I wouldn?t recognize ?em. So, you couldn?t tell what type of license plate, though? Okay. Any other persons standing around? It was just them two and the officer. And the officer, okay. And you said those vehicles were trying to get around the officer? Yeah. Trying?. And which-which way did they go? They One came from this way and one came from that way. Okay. So, two separate vehicles driving from two separate directions in- in opposite directions, okay, okay. Uh, do you think there?s anything else of-of value that we didn?t ask you about, uh, now or before? Um, no. Okay.
