The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (Bureau) is committed to ensuring that all consumers bene?t ?'om fair, transparent, and competitive markets for consumer ?nancial products and services and that consumers are protected under applicable Federal consumer ?nancial laws. Your letter raises several concerns about the leasing of rooftop solar panels, sales techniques associated with such lease agreements, and the protections available to consumers who may wish to enter into long-term agreements to lease solar panels. The Bureau is currently studying a number of overlapping issues that may implicate the leasing of roottOp solar panels, including ?nancing, market conditions, and industry practices that may affect consumers.
