DATE Dear Parent/Guardian: A case of COVID-19 has been diagnosed in an individual in your child’s classroom at Name of School . We are working closely with Public Health staff to ensure necessary measures are in place to protect all students. The virus spreads from person to person by large, respiratory droplets, like from a cough or sneeze. Your child is considered a close contact and is required to self-isolate until DATE, at which time your child may leave the home, if they remain symptom-free. Prior to that date, you will be receiving a call from someone from the Saskatchewan Health Authority to confirm your child remains healthy and is symptom-free on day 14 from last exposure. Self-isolation of close contacts is a requirement under the Public Health Order. Your child’s class will participate in remote learning on DATE and DATE. Public Health will not be contacting individual parents/guardians of students, visitors, or volunteers in the school. Please note that parents/guardians and siblings of close contacts are not required to self-isolate, however they should self-monitor. Public Heath strongly encourages all close contacts to be tested twice during the isolation period. It is possible to be positive for COVID and not experience any symptoms. Therefore, testing on Day 10 helps to inform whether it is appropriate to return to school once no longer required to isolate. The Regina Drive-Thru Testing Site located at the International Trade Centre is open every day 11:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. At any time, you can also call HealthLine at 811 for more information. We remind everyone entering schools to monitor for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19. Refer to the Daily Self-Assessment Checklist. Please complete this before attending school each day. If you/your child has any symptoms of COVID-19, please call 811 and remain at home. If medical attention is required, please call ahead to your health care provider. If it is an emergency requiring urgent attention, call 911. We will continue to provide additional information to parents/guardians as it is available. For further information regarding COVID-19, please call 811, and/or visit the Saskatchewan Ministry of Health website at www.saskatchewan.ca/covid19 . Sincerely, NAME Principal, School SAMPLE
