We are presenting a panel entitled "The Wires Industrey--Who will pay for Tomorrow's Grid? An in depth examination of the financial implications stemming from aggressive renewable energy policies." I am your late arriving moderator. My apologies for failing to organize this in a more reasonable time.   We have a total of 90 minutes, and I plan on using very little of that time. My sense is that about 10-12 minutes from each of you, and three to five miutes per respondent will leave us with a good block of time for dialogue with the audience. That's something I think is quite valuable and important.   I would propose no powerpoints, or limiting their use to visuals like maps or tables. This isn't a strict prohibition and your call, just my preference. Please let me know what you'd like to do.   You may have already prepared comments. If so, please share the theme with the rest of us. If not, here are some topics for you to consider:   Phil: perhaps you could talk about the impact on the distribution utility and the Arizona experience.  What services does the distribution utility provide to customers and what is the impact of significant DG on the system.  How does it differ from utility scale DG.    Simon: could you provide the perspective of an independent transmission provider who is seeking to transport utility scale DG.    Jerry: you could focus on how net metering or incentive policies might impact low-income and non-solar customers.  You could also address some of the consumer protection issues.   Steve: provide your perspective of what the utility might look like in the future, especially if there are aggressive renewable policies.  You might also discuss the solar industry business model and how it impacts the current utility regulatory structure.    Commissioner Callisto: I would ask you to round out the conversation with the impact on the regional markets and on the regional planning process.   Last wrinkle. I am leaving the country today for a week. I will have email access so we can continue this conversation by email.   Jeanette has suggested we meet for breakfast Tuesday morning to touch base with one another before our session. I am open to that idea if you would like to do so. Please add your preference to your email response.   Thanks again for your participation and patience with me and my schedule. I look forward to seeing you in Santa Fe.   David The information contained in this e-mail is intended for the exclusive use of the addressee(s) and may contain confidential or privileged information.
