It represents the estimated population at a specific point in time (mid-December 2020) and not the number of suites. Note that the capacity in the sector fluctuates so it may not be truly representative of the population today. Long-term care home staff counts were provided by MLTC (Dec 2020). Long-term care home residents are based on the LTCH Cohort (Jan 1 2021), a resident estimate developed by HAIB using administrative data sources. When the number of people with one or more doses exceeds the estimated denominator the percentage will exceed 100% (e.g. the number of retirement home residents).
