Official Information Request Relating to Communications Regarding Rachel Glucina

I refer to your request of 22 May 20i5 requesting the lollowmg information under the Official
Information Act for.
. "whether the Prime Minister or his office holds information on contacts with Rachel
Glucina about the pony-tail pulling incident;
. whether the Prime Minister or his office holds information on contacts with Rachel
Glucina about the pony-tail pulling victim, 

In your request you also note the following: "On 16 may 2015 the Prime Minister claimed that
he had 'nothing to do' with Rachel Glucina's exposure of the victim of his pony-tail pulling
denies involvement in Glucina ponytail-gate article) 3News, 18 may 2015). A
subsequent request lodged through was refused under section and 9(2)(be)

The request you refer to published on the FYI website. regarding information on Rosie Cafe,
noted it is not the practice of the media team or the Prime Minister to divulge details of
communications from journalists. This Office does adhere to the retention of "official
information" that is generated in the course of the Prime Minister's role as a Minister of the
Crown and the systematic creation and preservation of this information The position I have
outlined in responding to a request on the FYI website regarding the releasing of any details
of communications from the Prime Minister or the media team to Rachel Glucina still stands.
Therefore. requests for "official information" of communications between the Prime Minister
or the media team to Rachel Glucina. and any specific details pertaining to communications
that potentially may exist relevant to your scope would be Withheld under the following
grounds of the Official Information Act:

- Section as withholding the information is necessary "to protect the privacy of
natural persons. 

. section as Withholding the information is necessary to "protect information
which is subject to an obligation of confidence or which any person has been or could
be compelled to provide under the authority of any enactment, where the making
available of the information would be likely to prejudice the supply of similar
information, or information from the same source, and it is in the public interest that
such information should continue to be supplied. 

Where the information has been withheld under section 9, no public interest in releasing the
withheld information has been identified that would be sufficient to override the reasons for
withholding it.
