Public Information and Policy Research ExxonMobil is committed to supporting organizations that research significant domestic and foreign policy issues and promote informed discussion on issues of direct relevance to the business community and the Corporation’s operations. In 2005, worldwide contributions for Public Information and Policy Research totaled $6.8 million with $6.6 million focused within the United States. We support programs that foster international understanding and engagement. For example, we support the Council on Foreign Relations to promote constructive public and private discussions, and to publish Foreign Affairs, a journal on global issues. Our involvement with the Asia Society, the Africa Society, the Corporate Council on Africa, the Arab American Institute, Mosaic, the Business Council for International Understanding, and other similar organizations facilitates American understanding about other societies and cultures. Many also support the building of economic and cultural linkages across nations and cultures. Several organizations dedicated to researching free-market solutions to public policy problems receive support from ExxonMobil. For example, we support the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research, and the Competitive Enterprise Institute. Both organizations are dedicated to strengthening the foundations of freedom and to the principles of free enterprise. We also contribute to organizations committed to civil society in parts of the world where institution-building is a crucial issue. One such organization is the Central and East European Law Initiative Institute, which engages in legal education and skills training for lawyers, judges and other legal professionals. ✓ Acton Institute for the Study of Religion and Liberty, Grand Rapids, Michigan Advertising Council, Inc., New York, New York /AEI-Brookings Joint Center for Regulatory Studies, Washington, D.C.
