Dear Sir: 

Due to recent developments and pressuresJof the safety act, OSHA it was
resolved at the last nesting of local 8 of Iowa of the Bricklayers, Masons,

and Plasterers International Union of America to voice our protest of the

one aSpect we consider assinine and an infringsent on our rights as professional

men capable of making our own decisions.

We feel that the wearing of hard hats by bricklayers when we are working in
areas where the only danger of injury to our heads is the falling of +he sky

and an occasional low flying bird, approaches the depth of stupidity,

Understand that we therefore officially protest being forced to-wear these
absurd hats. We make this protest as responsible free sen in a free societya

We feel it is unjust and will support the people who feel as we do.
