David and I spoke briefly and we'll talk more when he is in a better location. The issue for today is whether this will come up at the conference or in some other way HT will be confronted with the allegations in the Bloomberg story. I'd suggest that we respond along these lines: Dbyiously, we cannot disclose the names of clients or any information about where in the world we have clients. We cannot con?rm or deny the names of goyernments or agencies who may or may not be clients. 2. We ltnow that our software is powerful, so we hate strict requirements that our clients use Hacking Team software only in absolute accordance with the law. 3. At this point: we hate no reason to belieye that any client has yiolated our agreements or the law. ONLY IF PRESSED: This latest Eloomberg story asserts that HT software may haye been inyolyed but offers no basis for that assertion. The Citizen Lab report on which the Etloomberg report is based also asserts that HT software was inyolyed: but bases this assertion on speculation by I[litizen Lab inyestigators: on other press accounts and the presence of three letters "rcs" in the code. The initials RES are, of course, the initials of a Hacking Team product, Remote Control System, but are also commonly used in software code for the term Frankly, they could mean anything. 4. Should we hate reason to belieye that Hacking Team software is being used in yiolation of our agreements. we will inyestigate the facts to determine appropriate actions.
