Referring to case #101001403957. Now I know why the potholes have never been
repaired. You just close the case without doing anything. If you looked around that
area you would see the potholes. In my report I said it was at the entrance to the
pike. I didn't think I had to be that specific. If you were at the intersection of
newbury and mass ave and looked around, you would see them. Isn't that what the
crew should be doing as part of their diligence anyway....looking around to see
what needs repair, especially if they got a report for that area. Why should we have
to point out every inch of the road? So to be more specific, if you come off
newbury, cross mass ave to go on the pike, the potholes are at the entrance to the
pike...in the crosswalk, next to Room and Board, etc. CITY'S RESPONSE: 6/8/15
Where is the pothole? Case closed. CITIZEN'S REPORT: 6/6/15 This is the 3rd
time I am reporting this and nothing has been done. This intersection which leads
to the entrance on the Mass Pike has several VERY large potholes, making it
impossible to pass without hitting them. At average speeds it will destroy the front
end of a car. It is also a heavy pedestrian crosswalk, and based on the stop­light
pattern, there are cars and pedestrians crossing at the same time making it a
difficult and unnecessary obstacle course. I cannot believe the City of Boston
believes this is acceptable and I am sure several public works vehicles have
passed it many times. You post statements on the website saying that potholes will
be repaired within 2 days on average. That has not been my experience at all.
These potholes have been there for almost a year and I have reported them 2
other times. Please repair them finally.   Size of the pothole: 2+ feet across, at least
