National Headquarters International Services 2025 E Street, NW Washington, DC 20006 July 17, 2015 Dear Partner, The American Red Cross has responded to requests from two members of the U.S. Congress to provide information about the work of the American Red Cross in Haiti, including work with partner organizations. We write to advise you that our response covered one or more of your projects in Haiti that the American Red Cross has funded. We were asked to provide information about work carried out by partners, the costs associated and the MG&F rate (sometimes referred to as “overhead” or “indirect costs”) under our Grant Agreement. We provided this information, as well as a brief description of the work. We asked that these offices keep this information confidential, and we have every expectation that they will honor that request for confidentiality. We are now being asked to share this information more broadly, with additional congress members, the public and the media. In the interest of transparency of operations, we wish to comply with this request. But we believe that our Grant Agreement with your organization may require your approval before we release the requested information to the public. We are hopeful that you will agree to the sharing of this information with the public and the media. If so, we ask that you respond to this email indicating your consent. If there is someone else in your organization to whom this request should be directed, please let me know. We value your partnership and the work of your organization in support of a sustainable recovery in Haiti. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Sincerely, Harold W. Brooks Senior Vice President, International Operations
