Subject: "National Moment of Silence" Vigil - Nationwide (8/14/14)

Activists across the U.S. are planning to hold vigils today, August 14 th, in response to the
shooting and resulting unrest in Ferguson, MO. The event, titled the “National Moment of
Silence”, is being spread on social media via the hashtag #NMOS14. The event was organized to
memorialize several recent incidents of alleged police brutality, including Mike Brown and
Trayvon Martin. Below is the current list of major cities with vigils planned, though more may be
added throughout the day. All vigils will meet at 1900 hours (7:00PM EST). Event organizers
requested that the vigils remain peaceful.
- Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Columbus, Denver, Detroit,
Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Log Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York City,
Newark, Oakland, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Portland, Salt Lake City, San
Francisco, Seattle, St. Louis, Tampa, Washington DC
