GREEN, ABC Agent SCOTT POWELL and Alexander City Police Detective WILLIAM GRANT on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at the Huddle House restaurant located at 4727 Highway 280, Alexander City, Alabama. WATSON (General Manager) stated that she is unsure of the time but believes that EMERSON JUNIOR CRAYTON arrived at Huddle House on Friday, March 7, 2014, at approximately 11:30 PM. CRAYTON sat down and placed his order with WATSON. WATSON detected the order of an alcoholic beverage and noticed CRAYTON'S eyes were bloodshot. After taking the order, WATSON went to the back of the restaurant and advised AUBREY LYNN PATTERSON (owner) that CRAYTON was here with a "smart mouth again." WATSON added that every time CRAYTON comes into the restaurant, he is a problem. A short time later, ELIZABETH BRIANNA ALLEY approached PATTERSON and said “yall going to have to do something with CRAYTON." PATTERSON advised WATSON that CRAYTON was being loud and obnoxious. WATSON returned to the front area and asked CRAYTON if he was "OK" or wanted his money back? CRAYTON stated “I want my fucking food!" WATSON advised CRAYTON that the food was almost done and to stop talking crazy to them and walked away. CRAYTON then said to WATSON “fuck you, you fat bitch." The two cooks, WILL BURKE and PATRICK ROY BRAMLETT, told CRAYTON “not to talk to WATSON like that, we don’t have to serve you." WATSON gave CRAYTON his food and instructed CRAYTON to leave. CRAYTON responded "you don’t tell me to leave; I will blow this whole motherfucker up." WATSON said "yes I do, get the fuck out!" CRAYTON went outside and placed the food inside his vehicle, reached under the seat and returned to WATSON and said “I told you I’ll blow this whole motherfucker up." WATSON signaled for Alexander City Police Corporal DONALD MANESS, who was at the top of the hill at the MAPCO service station. Corporal MANESS responded to the Huddle House parking lot and attempted to stop CRAYTON. Corporal MANESS approached the rear of CRAYTON’S vehicle and ordered CRAYTON to stop and exit the vehicle. CRAYTON placed the vehicle in reverse and backed out of the parking space. Corporal MANESS continued to tell CRAYTON to stop and exit the vehicle. At that point, CRAYTON placed the vehicle in drive and accelerated in the direction of Corporal MANESS. Corporal MANESS fired at least three shots in the direction of CRAYTON. DETAILS This report summarizes the statement of ELIZABETH BRIANNA ALLEY that was obtained by ABI Special Agent ANTHONY L. GREEN on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at the Huddle House restaurant located at 4727 Highway 280, Alexander City, Alabama. ALLEY stated that between approximately 12:05 to 12:10 AM, on Saturday, March 8, 2014, EMERSON JUNIOR CRAYTON arrived at the Huddle House restaurant. ALLEY stated that CRAYTON was a regular customer and every weekend there was a problem with him. ALLEY stated CRAYTON would normally place a call in order but did not this time. CRAYTON arrived and began complaining about the service. ALLEY described CRAYTON as having really red eyes and possibly under the influence of something. ALLEY advised AUBREY LYNN PATTERSON (co-owner) of the problem with CRAYTON. DOLLIE LEGINA WATSON (General Manager) approached CRAYTON and told him that the food was ready. As WATSON walked away to gather CRAYTON’S food, CRAYTON called WATSON a “Fat Bitch." WILL BURKE (Cook) advised CRAYTON “not to talk about WATSON like that, we don’t have to serve you." PATRICK ROY BRAMLETT (Cook) advised CRAYTON “you need to chill out." After a brief exchange between BRAMLETT and CRAYTON, CRAYTON stated “Fuck yall, fuck all of yall. I’m going to blow yall up." WATSON then told CRAYTON to "get out." CRAYTON left the restaurant followed by WATSON and BRAMLETT. WATKINS (server) states that EMERSON JUNIOR CRAYTON was complaining about his food. CRAYTON wanted an orange juice, WATKINS advised CRAYTON to hold on for a minute and she would bring him one. DOLLIE LEGINA WATSON and CRAYTON got into an argument over the food. WATKINS went back to serving her tables, WATSON and CRAYTON went outside. According to WATKINS she heard shots and went to the rear of the restaurant. WATKINS was later advised that CRAYTON had been shot. GREEN, ABC Agent SCOTT POWELL and Alexander City Police Detective WILLIAM GRANT interviewed PATRICK ROY BRAMLETT on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at the Huddle House restaurant located at 4727 Highway 280, Alexander City, Alabama. The following report summarizes BRAMLETT'S statement. BRAMLETT, a Huddle House cook, stated that he is unsure of the time, but believes that EMERSON JUNIOR CRAYTON came into the restaurant on Friday, March 7, 2014, at approximately 11:00 PM. According to BRAMLETT he doesn’t know what started the altercation but CRAYTON was being verbally abusive to DOLLIE LEGINA WATSON, the Huddle House general manager. At one point, BRAMLETT observed WATSON walking away from CRAYTON and it was then that CRAYTON called her a “fat bitch." BRAMLETT said he told CRAYTON “We are not going to tolerate that in this restaurant. You can get your money back, be escorted out the door and not get your food." After a brief verbal exchange, CRAYTON said “I’m going to come in here and blow this son of a bitch up." CRAYTON subsequently received his food and went to his vehicle while being followed by BRAMLETT and WATSON. BRAMLETT said CRAYTON placed the food inside the car after which CRAYTON reached under the seat. CRAYTON retrieved nothing. CRAYTON then walked towards WATSON, but saw Alexander City Police Corporal DONALD MANESS coming in his direction. As Corporal MANESS approached the rear of the CRAYTON's car, CRAYTON put the car in reverse and accelerated backwards, causing the officer to move to avoid being struck by CRAYTON'S car. BRAMLETT continued that CRAYTON then placed the car in drive and intentionally accelerated in the direction of Corporal MANESS. Corporal MANESS subsequently fired 3 shots. The first round struck CARAYTON'S windshield. BRAMLETT said that Corporal MANESS clearly ordered CRAYTON three times to stop and exit the car before firing his weapon. RADFORD (cook) stated that DOLLIE LEGINA WATSON (general manager) was having problems with EMERSON JUNIOR CRAYTON, a frequent customer. WATSON asked CRAYTON to leave the Restaurant and the verbal altercation continued. RADFORD followed WATSON and CRAYTON to the parking lot. Once outside, CRAYTON got into his vehicle, then back out and walked towards WATSON. RADFORD then called to Alexander City Police Corporal DAVID MANESS. CRAYTON then got back inside the vehicle. RADFORD said he told Corporal MANESS that CRAYTON was threatening to blow up the restaurant. Corporal MANESS subsequently approached CRAYTON'S vehicle from the rear. CRAYTON backed out nearly hitting Corporal MANESS. Corporal MANESS told CRAYTON to stop the vehicle, but CRAYTON placed the vehicle in drive while Corporal MANESS was in front of CRAYTON’S vehicle. Corporal MANESS continued to order CRAYTON to stop the vehicle. At that point, Corporal MANESS drew his weapon and continued to order CRAYTON to stop the vehicle. CRAYTON punched it (accelerates) in the direction of Corporal MANESS, who then fired into CRAYTON’S vehicle. CRAYTON’S vehicle slowed down and then accelerated. The following report summarizes GRANT'S statement. Huddle House owner, AUBREY LYNN PATTERSON, stated that he was in the rear of the restaurant when the general manager, DOLLIE LEGINA WATSON, approached him about an unruly customer, later identified as EMERSON JUNIOR CRAYTON. WATSON told PATTERSON that she may have to put CRAYTON out of the restaurant. A short time later, waitress ELIZABETH BRIANNA ALLY, also approached PATTERSON and stated that something needed to be done about CRAYTON. At some point, PATTERSON noticed that several of the employees were outside of the restaurant. PATTERSON walked outside. At that same time, Alexander City Police Corporal DONALD MANESS was approaching EMERSON JUNIOR CRAYTON’S vehicle. PATTERSON saw CRAYTON place his (CRAYTON'S) car in reverse, nearly striking Corporeal MANESS with the rear of the vehicle. Patterson watched as CRAYTON placed the vehicle in drive and intentionally drove in the direction of Corporal MANESS. PATTERSON said that Corporal MANESS fired at least three shots. PATTERSON stated that Corporal MANESS continuously directed CRAYTON to stop and exit the vehicle. Once outside, CRAYTON got into his vehicle, reached under the seat and then walked towards WATSON. DANIEL RADFORD (cook) signaled for Alexander City Police Corporal DAVID MANESS, who was in the adjacent parking lot at MAPCO convenience store. CRAYTON then got back inside the vehicle. Corporal MANESS approached CRAYTON’S vehicle from the rear. CRAYTON subsequently backed out of the parking space almost striking Corporal MANESS. Corporal MANESS directed CRAYTON to stop the vehicle. CRAYTON then placed the vehicle in drive as Corporal MANESS was in front of CRAYTON’S vehicle. Corporal MANESS continued to instruct CRAYTON to stop the vehicle. Corporal MANESS drew his weapon and again instructed CRAYTON to stop the vehicle.
