Statement of WishWarriors on Brianna King’s Guilty Plea
The Directors of WishWarriors were happy to learn of Ms. King’s guilty plea
today, the first day of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. We are encouraged that
Ms. King’s admission of guilt to grand theft will allow us to move this matter
quickly to a complete resolution. We are hopeful that we will receive the partial
restitution of the funds that were stolen from the organization; however, we do not
know when or how such payment will be made. If and when restitution is received
by WishWarriors, the Board will immediately meet to ensure that the families most
affected by Ms. King’s deceit – the Harveys, Taylors, and the Vopats – receive
distributions as has always been intended.
The Board of Directors of WishWarriors will be meeting within the next two
weeks to further discuss plans for the organization. Until such time as this meeting
is held, we cannot make any further statement about the future of WishWarriors.
Once again we are very happy that this matter is moving toward resolution
and hope that the focus can now return to the battle against childhood cancer.
