I wanted to share with you the attached schedule of REC prices across the US. in particular, please look at the market prices for Ohio's in-state (sited) and out of state (adjacent) RECs. Big wind is fighting to retain control of the higher REC prices for in-state resources: Sited 2013 offer: $13.35/mwh (REC) Adjacent 2013 offer: $11.00/mwh (REC) ln-state RECs appear to be 17.6% higher than those supplied from adjacent states. When utilities negotiate PPA prices, we may be privy to the average long-term bundled prices that include energy, RECs and some capacity. It's impossible to gauge the price assigned to each component, but, at the very minimum, from these numbers we know the "environmental benefit" is pricier for in-state resources. The schedule from January 2013 (also attached) shows that RECs were also priced higher. Note that the prices overall were much lower in January than today. This is likely due to increasing RPS demands in the PJM control area. Best, 212 --Lisa lisa linowes executive director 603-838-6588 windaction.org like us on facebook - 213
