The following is a list of incidents occurring this year at the Grant County Detention Center. 1. On or about 11/09/2007, Grant County Corrections Officer (7) ested by the FBI. Of?ce We) was conspiring to assist in the escape of a inmate. Of?cer vas arrested at the Grant County Detention Center .. conuc 8 rant County Detention Center. The Eastern District of Kentucky produced two inmates on WHCAT's. This office was unable to obtain any outcome as of yet. 3. 06/24/2007, inmatewm-escaped from this facility by climbing the basketball goal, af?xing a homemade sling to is person/ceiling and kicking through the chain link fence ceiling. The Corrections Officers were in contact wit or the more than ?ve minutes prior to his successful breach. It was later learned that lnmateWconcealed the sling from Corrections Of?cers for three weeks. The Detention Center advised a search of his cell had been conducted prior to his escape. 8. DATE 11. Both were offered a polygraph but the inmates' attorne advised him to not take the examination.The case was closed and was classi?ed as unfounded. 5. 05/10/2007, an investigation into a racial statement made by a white corrections officer at ran ounty Detention Center to a black female inmate. This statement was made in the presence of her attorney (former AUSA). DEPUTY (7X0) KNOCKED NUMBEROUS TIMES ON THE WINDOW, SHOUTING FOR I .I TO GET DOWN OFF THE BASKETBALL GOAL, INMAIE CONTINUED TO PULL AT THE FENCING. DEPUTYREPORTED Ib) ACTIVITIES TO ACTING . SUPERVISOR CLP. BOTH DEPUTIES ENTERED D-72 AND SHOUTED ORDERS TO INMATE CLIMB DOWN OFF THE GOAL POST, INMATE (7X0) FHEN PULLED HIMSELF UP AND THROUGH THE FENCING HOLE AND DISAPPEARED ON THE ROOF. AND DEPUTY RAN OUT THE FRONT DOOR AND AROUND THE TION INTER TO THE SHERIFF OFFICE TO SUMMONDS SHERIFF DEPUTY HELP THEM WITH THE PRISONERS ESCAPE. DEPUTY AND DEPUTY SAW (7X0) DOWN OUTSIDE OF THE CENTER WALL, FLEEING INTO THE BRUSH AND WOODS THE DEPUTIES GAVE CHASE-AND LOST SIGHT OF THE INMATE IN THE DARKNESS OF NIGHT. SUPERVISOR CPL. ORDERED THE DETENTION TO BE ON COMPLETE LOCK DOWN. THE JAIIER, STEVE KELLAM WAS NOTIFIED, KENTUCKY STATE POLICE, UNITED STATES MARSHALLS OFFICE AND AREA LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES WERE NOTIFIED. LT.
