The usefulness of the meeting can brie?y be summed up in the following points: 0 SDS was able to describe its management, selection and welfare strategy and thereby reassure Sand?that we did have processes and did not just pluck officers from Squads and cast them adrift when finished. Qwas able to describe changes that occur in undercover officers and therefore give us an understanding of why they occur. 6 We were able to put some of the comments made by former field officers into context and to place in context the actual problems experienced by the unit over the years. was able to explain why the most crucial area is likely to be when officers try to reintegrate to main stream policing. Sspecifically mentioned a debrief at the end of the tour which could include both operational and issues. 14 Will provide a draft paper on suggestions feels would improve our current welfare strategy.
