Foster Sheriff Fannin County Sheriff's Office 2375 Silo Road Bonham, Texas 75418 (903) 583-2143 October 27, 2015 On Friday, October 23, 2014 at approximately Fannin County Sheriff?s dispatch received a report of a runaway juvenile. Upon arrival deputies met with the caller who reported that her 16 year old daughter, who was possibly suicidal, had apparently gone out her bedroom window and left the premises. Deputies searched the immediate area and outbuildings until tracking dogs arrived from the Choice Moore Unit to assist with the search. Multiple dogs were involved in the search, however they were unable to locate the missing girl. Deputies were advised that the young lady had ties to McKinney, Texas and could possibly have been given a ride to McKinney, Lamar County, or to other locations in the Bonham area. Sheriff?s Office personnel continued the investigation throughout the weekend, contacting her known friends and associates. Electronic technology efforts to locate her cellphone were unsuccessful. Sheriff?s Office personnel continued to follow tips of possible sightings, with tips coming from Bonham, McKinney and as far as Lubbock. On Monday, October 27, 2015, Sheriff?s personnel, along with members of Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Canine officers from Texas Department of Criminal Justice Wynne Unit in Huntsville met to conduct a grid search of the area. The young lady was found in an extremely dense wooded area, approximately mile from her residence. She was deceased. An autopsy was ordered by Justice of the Peace Rayce Smithey.
