The additional chemicals you gave me over the phone in DGO14 have pushed the total cases exposed to "Tergitols" to four, so this is no no longer a problem. 2. As for dripolenes, mesityl oxide, hydrogen sulfides and cobalt, we have the following information: For each chemical, 3 cases were exposed and the department groups where the chemicals occurred were DG016 and DG-21 for each chemical. Can you see any synonyms for any of these chemicals that might explain why they were included on Leffingwell1s list? (Leffingwell is supposedly studying chemicals that at least 4 cases have been exposed to). 3. Any comments you might have on the seven chemicals under study in our in-house study, namely benzene, diethyl sulfate, ethylene, ethylene dichlorid , ethylene oxide, polyethylene (or ethylene polymers) and vinyl chloride would be appreciated (i.e. synonyms, or close structural analogues. Specifically, are there any strong sim ilarities between ethylene oxide and ethylene oxide derivatives (tergitols) ). For your information, I have enclosed a lis t of department groups and the cases that are associated with each group. We use this as a guide in determining how many cases were exposed to a chemical. Also enclosed is a revised UCC 053327 Mr. R. L. Frantz 2 March 19, 1981 lis t of chemicals which at least 4 cases have been exposed to. A few chemicals which I mentioned over the phone are no longer on the lis t. We feel a need to be up on whatever results NIOSH obtains, and any answers or comments you have w ill be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, A.
