Rev. 12/2014 Page 4 . 3 BASIC COURSE CERTIFICATION REVIEW Commission on POST Basic Training Bureau Exemplary Aspects: Kevin Rausis, the EVOC manager, does an outstanding job coordinating and managing this course. He has integrated the new Police Utility Vehicle into the training for both academy and in-service personnel. He has creatively used video in a flipped classroom format (students watch video for the cognitive aspect of the course, then report to EVOC for physical skills training.) He has less than a year left in this assignmet, but he has already started succession planning by training Greg Mrvich. Another exemplary aspect is the outstanding instructional staff. They are all 1070 certified with years of experience, and the passion for teaching recruits. Keven Rausis, Greg Mrvich, and Paul Becotte participate in the POST EVOC Committee for curriculum development and review of best practices for LD 19. General Comments: One of the expenses the program must deal with is the $400 is costs to move the Skidcars to and from the training location. The fire department has a garage-type structure on site that may become available in the near future. Serious consideration should be given to allow storage of the Skidcars in this garage when it becomes available in order to realize the significant cost savings from not having to use a tow company to move the Skidcars to an offsite storage area.
