On or about July, 1999, I went to the North Carolina Growers
Association (hereafter in Vass, North Carolina where
I attended the NCGA orientation for newly arrived H-ZA

obligations under the contract . He spoke down to the workers
from a balcony along the inside wall.

Mr. Hill spoke at length about the Farmworker Unit of
Legal Services of North Carolina, (hereafter "Legal

Mr. Hill then held?up a copy of the llKnow Your Rights"
booklet produced by Legal Services. He ordered workers to
toss the. "Know Your Rights" booklet into the trash can. He
told the workers that after throwing away the "Know Your
Rights? booklet, then the workers could have a copy of the
NCGA Handbook.

7. The workers then had to register at an information desk.
Trash cans were lined up along side the desk. The workers has
to pass the row of trash cans and throw away the "Know Your
Rights? booklet before they could leave the. building;

8. I believe that the workers were afraid of Mr. Hill's
statements regarding Legal Services . The workers understood
that they had to throw the booklets away or they would be
punished by their employer.
