Please accept this letter as a response to your October 22, 2015 Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) request
for:

Please provide me copies of any docmnents showing the total number of anartment units and buildings
registered for rent stabilization in New York City and New York State as of 2015 and each prior year until
1995 or the earliest date for which the agency has such statistics available. Please provide any spreadsheets that
contain summaries of such figures, or if spreadsheets are not available, any records which list total apartment
and building registrations for New York City and New York State during these years.

As an example of what I am looking for, the says in its 2013 annual report (on page 5) that ?Today
there are approximately 43,000 buildings and 900,000 units under the rent stabilization system." I am looking to
get an annual history of the precise number of rent-stabilized apartments and buildings for the city and state
similar to the ?gures disclosed in your annual report: shcr.or IRent/2013AnnualReview. df
