MB Christine Nguyen: Re: Segtember i, 2015 Health During my inspection on September 1, i noted and explained the shortcomings in your delivery of service to clients and gave you a repon detailing the issues that needed immediate attention. To ensure that expectations for services are ciear and to meet the requirements for the re-inSpection scheduled for September . i am giving you this list of improvements to be implemented im mediateiy10} 11) 12} 13) Single use items must not be reused. This includes naii files, buffers, pumice bars, arbor bands, slippers, toe separators, callus planer blades, wax applicators, scrub brushes etc. Adequate stock of at} single use items is required at at! times and new supplies are to be gathered for each client. Adequate waste receptacles and proper sharps containers are required for the immediate diSposal of single use items. Some tools are reusable. in order for them to be re-used between ctients, mutt! use touts that can be disinfected must be used. Matti-use tools/implements must be washed in warm soapy water, foltowed by a disinfection process in between each client. The disinfection process may inciude immersion in 6% hydrogen peroxide, used as per the manufacturers? instructions, or the use of a steam autoclave that Can achieve proper disinfection. This process is required for cuticle nippers, dippers, callus planer handles, metal food ?les, tweezers etc. Cleaning rooms are required to be clean and organized to make it easy for the technicians to foltow procedures. An area is required where tools can be air dried. Clean, sanitized tools must be stored in clean, covered comainers. Adequate stock of cleaning and disinfecting chemicals is required at all times, All foot spas are to be cleaned and sanitized between clients. Technicians must wash their hands between dients. General sanitization requires improvement. Ail surfaces should be dean and organized. Ail towels are to be used once and then sent to be iauodered. An appropriate cleaning area needs to be installed in this as soon as possibte. A minimum 2- compartment sink and adequate counter Space on either side of the sink is required. A hand sink must also remain for proper technician hand hygiene. Please contact Public Health Inspector Rhea ltofko) Epp to discuss your plan for sink installation before it. Sterilizer cabinets are meant oniy as a dean, germ?free environment for storage of implements and tools that have been previousiy deaned and disinfected. They are not a substitute for disinfection or sterilization. Toots and Implements shouid be property disinfected prior to storage. in order to do this effectively, the technicians will require multiple sets of tools so that they can continue on with another ciient using a ciean, disinfected set.
