Cell #15 was 0 an and immediate! saw that Officer _and I returned to House 1 and escorted Prisoner _)ver to APS. Prisoner- was a extremely upset; he was crying and was rather unsteady on his feet. We placed him in the Attorney Visiting Room and maintained visual contact on him. Shortly after an Alaska State Trooper photo raphed Prisoner -or evidence and then Prisoner-was strip searched by Office_ and Officer Since Prisoner .was appearing much calmer, I returned to my assigned post and completed my shift. Myself and Of?cer -quickly went to Bravo Module. I could see that prisons-Nae standing there in his cell door upon entry to the module. When we made entry I asked him what and he pointed up. Someone else in the mod yelled 15, as we made our way I began to hear someone yelling for help. We got to cell Bravo 15 in which prisoner Gillespie, Elihu obeis#484174 and?both are housed. prisoner Gilleripie and pleading for help. he said he did not know what to do. had what is was in a state ofpanie and crying for help. Master Control Officer heard the call and immediately called for prim:in responders to House I for a medical emergency. Unaware of the situation inside the cell other than what Officer '-couid visually see we made the decision to restrain -and begin medical assistance for Gillespie. Once I had made sure that Of?cer _vas able to get -0 the shower and locked in i went back to the cell to assess the situation. Of?cer -assisted Of?cer-and in At this time we moved Gillespie from the cell and placed him?ind took him to the saliyport. He was then taken to Medical and remained in the house with Ofiiccr -who had been watching -d1ie to our concerns of his emotional state. went to the upper Bravo Mod shower where-was and began trying to calm him down. He kept asking how Gillespie was at one point he said he "Did not mean to do it" he continued asking about Gillespie. A few moments later he calmed down enough to speak. I told him that was going to take him to a program cell and get him out ol-?the Mod. 1 then asked it?Gillespie had hit his head or what had happened. He said ?No i didn?t mean for it to happen he has a bad temper. choked him and thought he went out but he started ?ghting again. i started to choke him again and did it too long.? He started eiying again and said ?i didn?t mean to do it and did everything i could to help him, i don?t know i calmed him down enough to move him to a program cell. Once there he again reiterated what happened and that he did not mean for it to happen. I talked to him in order to calm him down until we took him to APS. I helped escort-t0 the attorney Client visiting room. We immediately responded to Bravo module to investigate. Upon arriving in Bravo module we were redirected to cell 15, occupied by prisoners Gillepsie, Elihu and When we arrived at cell 15 prisoner Gillespie was lying flat on his back on the cell floor while prisoner .was in an extremely frantic state. He was upon prisoner Gillespie and pleading for help. Of?cer -immediately called for primary responders and 'further informed Post one that it was prisoner Gillespie and Officer ?nd I placed prisoner - into wrist restraints and placed him into the upper bravo shower. Officer - hile several responders arrived on scene. I directed Officer and also Officer- to maintain constant visual contact with prisoner - Moments later the? scene and Officer ?and I placed it on prisoner Gillespie and We then placed prisoner Gillespie on the?and escorted him out of the module, down the stairs and onto the yard cart. I then received a radio call from post one advising me to get my PTO gear on so I could assist in transporting prisoner Gillespie to Seward medical center. I immediately left the house, got my gear on and conducted the transport. Upon arrival at Seward medical center I called post one and gave him a situation report. At 0230 hours the medical staff informed me that prisoner Gillespie was declared dead. lthen called post one and informed him of the change in status.
