Written at Luamg Ta Bua Temple, Kanchanaburi April 29th, 2015 This is to record; On April 28th, 2015 at 1.30pm and today (April 29th) at 9am, the Forestry Department which consists of officers from Wild Life Protection Department, District 3 (Ban Pong) and Faculty of Veterinary, Mahidol University, Army Force of District 29 ZSurasri Camp), Police Officers of Sai Yok Station, whose names are shown at the end of this record, did investigate evidences including numbers on microchips implanted to tigers at Luang Ta Bua Temple. The investigation was done under the supervision of Pol.Col. Supitpong Pakcharung, Vice President of Luang Ta Bua Foundation. The investigation on April 28th and 29th were done as to continue the previous investigation on 24th and 25th of April this year which has found 147 tigers at the temple. Of these 147 tigers, 127 could be read for their microchips. Fifteen tigers do not have microchips, and 5 tigers could not be close to catch them for investigation. The results of the investigation are as follows; 1) Two of the 15 tigers whose microchips could not be found in the previous investigation, have finally been able to read the numbers of their microchips. One of the 5 tigers that the investigation team could not get close to them in the previous investigation, could finally be read for his/her microchip number. Therefore, there are 3 more tigers that could identify their microchips at this investigation. This has made altogether 130 tigers out of 147 tigers that have their microchips read and recorded. 2. There were 15 tigers that could not read the microchip numbers. Later, there were 2 out of these 15 tigers that found the microchip numbers. Therefore, 13 tigers who their microchips remain unknown. These 9 tigers are less than 5 months of age so the Forestry Department has not yet assigned the microchips. The rest of 4 tigers of which 3 ofthem have already had the photographic database which the Forestry Deapartment has arranged with representatives from the tiger temple to record them. The Vet, Somchai Wisetmongkolchai, is the represntative of the tiger temple who arranged such records in July 2012. The assigned authority therefore, used these records which are taken at the front of the tiger, left, right, left body, right body, and the tail which are 6 photos in total for the investigation of the 3 missing tigers. The investigation shows the tiger named "Sai Fah" (1st in the database), Decho (14th in the database), and Dawee (17th in the database) were found. There is 1 tiger whose name is Star (102nd in the database) cannot be found for its microchip number. 3. Five tigers are not able to team with other tigers. On 28th April, 2015, one of these is needed to get a microchip. There are 4 tigers remain without microchips, but there is their photographic database of them. The experts investigated the database and found that these 4 tigers are: Fah Rung (18th in the database), Sangthong (28th in the data base), Diamond (29th in the database, and Zaka (69th). 4. The investigation mentioned in no. 2 and No. 3 above were done by 2 teams. The first team led by Forestry Department, officers from Faculty of Veterinarian of Mahidol University, and representatives from the tiger temple. The investigation of the first team was done on April 28th. The second team led by another persons from Forestry Department, officers from Faculty of Veterinarian of Mahidol University, and representatives from the tiger temple who investigated solely through the database on April 29th for the missing tigers. However, no matched data found for the missing tigers. Therefore, the 3 missing tigers can be believed that they were not in the temple. 5. There was 1 tiger carrion found in the cold storage in the tiger temple. The investigation through the microchip database shows the matched number of 900026000268900 which was owed by tiger named "Issara" (41st in the database). 6. The tiger named “Star” (102th in the list) is reported to have microchip number 965000000270351 implanted. However, the investigation team has tried several times to scan for the identification number, but never found. It is then believed that there is no microchip implanted for Star. Therefore, the new microchip number (982000363263482) has been assigned and implanted to Star. Star is a female tiger at age 3 years old. For safety reason, Star was place anaesthetic before whole body scanning for investigation and implant. 7. In summary, there have been found 147 tigers in Luang Ta Bua Temple. 7.1 There were 130 tigers that were scanned for microchip and found matched with the records which were made and presented by vets at Luang Ta Bua Temple. 7.2 The Forestry Department Team has implanted 10n microchips to 10 tigers. Nine of which are cubs that age not over 5 months old. The other one is adult tiger named Star. 7.3 The team used photographic database to investigate 7 tigers. These tigers were in the group that should be able to read the microchip numbers. However, 3 of these 7 tigers could not found their microchip numbers. These three named, Sai Fah, Decho, and Dawee (1st, 14th, and 17th in the list). The rest of 4 tigers are fierce and the team could not get close to them. These 4 are matched with photographic database and believed to be Fah Rung, Sangthong, Daimond, and Zaka (18th, 28th, 29th, and 69th in the list). 7.4 There was one carrion found. The microchip was 900026000268900 which was Isara (41st in the list). 7.5 After investigation for the missing tigers, the tigers that are reported missing from Luang Ta Bua Temple were not at the temple.
