Staff know children exceptionally well and promote their excellent levels of confidence and independence. Children receive exceptional praise and encouragement, which promote their self-esteem extensively.  The manager and staff have highly effective relationships with parents and other professionals. For example, staff support parents extensively and help them to access a range of local services and training opportunities. Information is shared with other professionals exceptionally well to promote an extremely consistent approach to meeting children's needs.  Staff use their expert knowledge of how children learn to provide exciting and engaging learning experiences. Children are highly motivated to learn and they all develop excellent skills for their future learning. They make rapid and sustained progress from their individual starting points.  The manager is extremely effective at monitoring children's learning and development. Any gaps in children's learning are identified and addressed extremely quickly with highly tailored support.  Children behave exceptionally well. They take turns easily, share resources willingly and quickly resolve any conflicts that arise between them. Children are extremely confident to try things for themselves and explore the inviting environment. Inspection activities  The inspector observed staff interactions with the children and the quality of teaching during a range of activities indoors and outdoors.  The inspector spoke to parents, staff and children.  The inspector completed a joint observation with the manager of the pre-school.  The inspector sampled documentation, including children's records, policies and procedures, and evidence of the suitability of staff. They use self-evaluation exceptionally well to bring about excellent, continuous improvements for children. For example, younger and older children gain key skills from each other during their play together. The manager ensures staff are exceptionally clear about their roles and responsibilities. She provides excellent support to help staff maintain their high level of skills and knowledge. For example, each staff member has a training plan linked to their professional development needs. Safeguarding is effective. Staff have an excellent understanding of their responsibilities to keep children safe. They are highly confident in the procedures to follow should they have concerns about a child's welfare. Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding The quality of teaching is exceptional and staff have high expectations of themselves and children. The manager and staff have an excellent understanding of child development. Their assessments of children's progress are highly accurate and help them plan exceptionally well for children's individual learning needs. Staff provide excellent support to all children's learning. For example, they use highly effective strategies to communicate with children with additional needs, such as using signing and pictures. Staff use questioning extremely well to promote children's excellent thinking skills and help them to solve problems. Children develop exceptional mathematical skills and confidently use numbers. Staff provide high-quality teaching to help children understand how to use numbers. For example, during play with model animals, staff asked children to count, add and subtract using them. Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding There are excellent arrangements that support children when they first start. For example, staff carry out home visits, gain information about children's interests and families, and children visit the pre-school. Children settle extremely well and feel exceptionally safe and secure in the care of the staff. Staff support children's excellent understanding of how to keep themselves healthy at every opportunity. For example, children eagerly talk about healthy food and the importance of exercise. Children use a wide range of equipment and resources to extend their physical skills extremely well. Staff and children remind each other about how to stay safe. For example, children share the rules of the forest area with a new child before they enter it. Outcomes for children are outstanding Children develop an exemplary range of skills, ready for the next stage in their learning and for school. It is open for five days a week from 8am to 3pm, mainly during term time, with some additional sessions offered during school holidays. The preschool employs six members of staff, all of whom hold suitable early years qualifications. The pre-school receives funding to provide free early education for children aged two, three and four years. This inspection was carried out by Ofsted under sections 49 and 50 of the Childcare Act 2006 on the quality and standards of provision that is registered on the Early Years Register.
