Sky View had a wonderful holiday concert and this was a very dif?cult way to end the evening. Email on 12l12114 -10:41 AM To: School Committee Members just got back from Sky View Middle School. The action steps communicated to you last evening were implemented this morning. The staff has been very responsive and are supporting each other. The student community has come together to support each other at this difficult time. Students who were upset after hearing about lsaiah sought support from the counseling resources available in the building. After we notified parents at 8:00 AM, some parents stopped by the school to speak to their children and others came by to pick them up and take them out of school for the day. We urged the staff to maintain as normal of a schedule as possible throughout the day. Students are always better when they stay busy. We received tremendous counseling support from our other schools and we thank them for their assistance and cooperation. This situation involved a complicated family issue and we have received support and assistance from the Department of Children and Families (DCF) in Leominster in helping students and staff cope with the tragedy. At this point we have only received one media inquiry from the Sentinel. I have attached a file with the script that went out to parents this AM and the press release document.
