Dear Judge Felnagle: I am aware that you are looking into potential ethical violations related to Mr. Busto's whistleblower repon. I have information that may be relevant for you to consider. 1 was present during at least one conversation regarding Mark Lindquist personally intervening in the Nissan public records tigation. Mark Lindquist made it elear that he would not intervene it it required him spending his own money for an attorney. Mark Lindquist approved Dan Hamilton asking Mr. Estes to represent Mark Lindquist personally, at no eharge, to intervene in the county lawsuit. Mark Lindquist suggested that itMr. Estes represented him personally in the Nisden matter, that Mr. Estes could profit from other legal work ror Pieree County in the future. As I have previously informed you that Mark Lindquist made similar suggestions to me regarding different circumstances. Please feel free to Contact me if you have any questions about this information. You may reach me at Sincerely, Mary E. During 20m, someone sent a threatening letter to my house and was later notified by the Sheriff's Department that the suspect was Detective Nissan. Eventualiyt Mark Lindquist wanted me to consider filing a law suit against Detective Nissen. agreed to contact my artcmey. L. Clay Selbys to discuss the matter. Mark Lindquist attended my first and second meetings widt Mr. Selby, Mark Lindquist suggested to me several times that if Mr. Selby would take my case on a contingency, his firm could benefit by getting some lucrative work from Pierce County. Mark i.irttlouist may have discussed this same proposal during our meetings with Mr Selby ML Selby and entered a standard agreement for hourly representation. Thereaner we met together privately without Mark Lindquist. Despite Mark Lindquisl's suggestion that Mr. Selby's firm could prosper by getting Pierce County Legal work by taking my case on a contingency, neither Mr, Selby nor i followed up on that suggestion. instead, Mr. Selby sent me periodic bills which i paid. i did not tile a lawsuit against Detective Nissen. During the rail "2011, Mr Jack Connelly was running for political office Mark Lindquisl again suggested to me tiiat Mr. Connolly could file a lawsuit on my behalf (against Detective Nissen) on a contingency basis in exchange for Mark Lmdquisls's endorsement of Connolly as a candidate for oFfice, i found the suggestion absurd and I don't know ilthis suggested quid pro qua was ever communicated to Mr. Connelly i am providing this inlon-nation to you because i know the whistlebiower report includes information that Mark Lindquist accepted a gifi ofpm bcwo legal service from a lawyer and the lawyer providing servree prospered significantly by being retained on other Pierce County matters. I have more infon'nalion relaxed spacifically to Mark Lindquist's personal in Ihe public case. Before I provide more specific informalion in this regard, I need to contact the Washingiun Smle Bar Association (WSBA) Io clarify my responsibilities under the Rules of Professional Conduct. I will Contact you aficr have contacted the WSBA, in the meantime. please accept this letter as general information that Mark Lindouist has previously suggested a quid pra qua: that is accepting legal representation in exchange for political endorsement and in exchange for lucrative legal work lor Pierce County. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about this inlonnation. You may reach me at-- sincerely,
