RE: Behavioral Health Investigation
Dear Honorable Members of the Legislature:
My office, in collaboration with auditing firm RSM, has completed its investigation of the final two
behavioral health providers, Pathways and TeamBuilders. As with the previous ten investigations,
although the investigation identified some regulatory violations, we were unable to substantiate a
deliberate or intentional pattern of fraud. These investigations will now be forwarded to HSD for any
administrative action they deem appropriate. All investigations are available on the website of the Office
of the Attorney General at http://www.nmag.gov/2013-behavioral-health-audit.aspx.
My interest in releasing the behavioral health audit and completing these investigations has been to
provide the public with a fully transparent and thorough review of all providers, while mitigating the
harmful impact caused by the disruption of services to vulnerable New Mexicans.
