The top priority of the El Camino Real Charter High School (ECRCHS) Governing Board is to pursue what is in the best interest of our students – always. ECRCHS is one of the highest performing schools in Los Angeles. Our stellar reputation has reached beyond the Southern California region resulting in statewide recognition of our students’ outstanding academic and extra-curricular achievements. In light of the recent media inquiry regarding LAUSD’s Notice to Cure from last October, the Board remains steadfast in our commitment to transparency and accountability to our authorizer and school community. ECRCHS is a new charter school constantly working to update our policies to comply with the ever-changing regulations applied to public schools. Many of the practices that we inherited from LAUSD, such as our reimbursement procedures, need to be updated, as they are insufficient for an independent public charter school. Similar to other charter schools and school districts, we continue to identify new ways to manage our school more efficiently and to work toward full compliance. We have hired additional staff to assist with new accounting and compliance requirements and, as an extra measure of precaution; we will be working with an independent accountant. We are supportive of our Executive Director and our entire teaching, administrative and support staff, and we sincerely appreciate all of their efforts to move ECR forward and continually improve our school. We are also grateful for our students, parents, community leaders and authorizer who continue to demonstrate their confidence in ECRCHS and the ECRCHS Governing Board. We are proud of yet another successful school year, and look forward to all the great things to come.
