This requires updating and refinement from time to time to keep the logo fresh and current in appearance, especially in today’s ever-changing and fast-paced world. the usage of their logo and brand. They protect the logo because it represents them and no one wants themselves misrepresented. A decade ago, USA Gymnastics adopted its current red, white and blue abstract gymnast logo. In 2013, in conjunction with the organization’s 50th anniversary we opted to refresh and update the brand guide to ensure better consistency and usage of the USA Gymnastics logo at all levels: Corporate Communications, Member Clubs, Regions, States and at local and national competitions. Just as The Olympic Rings, the NFL and NBA have globally recognized brands, so does USA Gymnastics, and we must do everything we can as an organization to use it properly and consistently. The newly refreshed logo provides the opportunity to build a stronger brand identity for USA Gymnastics as well as help advance the sport as a whole. USA Gymnastics is a big time brand. All the great and most recognizable brands in the world have one thing in common aside from a memorable and well-designed logo. They have a roadmap, a plan, and a blueprint for their brand. The blueprint provides a “here’s how and how not to” to use this logo approach which is called “Brand Guide.” In addition, all of the best known brands of the world protect USA Gymnastics, being the international brand that it is, should be no exception.
