Farley, (304) 256-1708 dfarley@beckleypd.com On 8-1-16 the Beckley Raleigh County Drug and Violent Crime Unit (HIDTA) executed a search warrant on South Meadows St. Beckley, WV. This search warrant was obtained after an investigation of approximately two years into the illegal sale and distribution of narcotics. During the execution of the search warrant Officers recovered illegal narcotics including several different kinds of prescription medication and an undisclosed amount of US currency. During the investigation eleven people have been linked to one person, Rudolph Poindexter. Mr. Poindexter is the pastor of Second Baptist Church on F St. in Beckley, WV. Mr. Poindexter was supplying these persons with narcotics for sale on the street. No arrests have been made but indictments on the persons involved including Rudolph Poindexter will happen in the near future. HIDTA stands for high intensity drug trafficking area. The task force is comprised of members of the Beckley Police Department, Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department and the West Virginia State Police. They concentrate on the trafficking of narcotics into the area and the sale and distribution of narcotics. The task force covers Raleigh County in its entirety. Lt.
