Given the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) prominent role in carrying out the Administration’s immigration enforcement priorities, ICE continues to work closely with the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) to identify cases that fall within those priorities for expeditious consideration. DHS recognizes EOIR’s vital role in the fair and effective administration of our nation’s immigration laws and appreciates EOIR’s ongoing collaboration in this effort. It is important to note that while DHS identifies select cases for priority consideration for scheduling hearings, both individuals in proceedings and government attorneys can formally request to have the court expedite or postpone any given proceeding based upon the individual facts and circumstances of the case. --Virginia Kice Western Regional Communications Director/Spokesperson U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)
