Dear Vice Admiral Syring,

We are writing to request your consideration of the Camp Ravenna Joint Military
Training Center as the preferred site for the East Coast Missile Defense system. We believe this
site is well-suited for the mission and would help ensure the security of our nation's east coast.

Camp Ravenna is in close vicinity to the Akron and Youngstown transportation
networks, which could help jumpstart the new mission by facilitating the flow of military and
construction traf?c. Additionally, Camp Ravenna does not contain significant environmental.
historic property. or airSpace?related concerns that would prevent construction or operations.

It is estimated that the $3.6 billion project could help support 2.300 jobs in the region
during construction and directly employ up to 850 people full?time once the system is
operational. This represents a significant investment in a region of our state that is continuing to
recover economically.

Ohioans stand ready to support the defense of our nation and look forward to this
potential opportunity to strengthen the regional economy.

Thank you for considering Camp Ravenna as the preferred site for the East Coast Missile
Defense system. We welcome the East Coast Missile Defense site to Ohio.
