I refer to the claim ot'parliamentary privilege made in relation to material the Australian
Federal Police seized from Parliament House, Capital Hill, ACT 2600. following the
execution ofa Search warrant on 24 August 2016.

In accordance with section 6.11 ofthe AFP National Guideline for Execution of Search
Warrants where Parliamentary Privilege may be involved (Guideline), I notify you that I
continue to assen my claim ofparliamentary privilege.

I will write to the Clerk ofthe House, Mr David Elder. to commence an action to seek a ruling
from the House on the claim, Consistent with the Guideline, I expect the seized items to
remain in the Clerk's possession until the House rules on my privilege claim

I ask you to draw this correspondence to the attention of your officer Phillippa Connell. the
executing ot'ficer ofthe warrant, as formal notice ofmy decision to maintain my claim of
parliamentary privilege and to have it resolved by the House
