RayFish iDEN Controller Distribution 2.4 Release Notes The following sections are included in this document: Product Description New Features PTR Fixes Known Issues Product Description The iDEN Controller v2.4 software consists of the following PCC, SDR, and Bootloader software versions:  iDEN PCC Version: 2.4.0.1019  iDEN SDR Version: 2.2.1.21  Bootloader Version: 2.7.3.1  SyBIR Version: 2.2.0.122 (for StingRay II only) Important Notes       Due to USB driver updates shared by all RayFish applications, iDEN 2.4 is only compatible with the following releases: o RayFish Download Utility (RDU) v4.3 (or above) o Gemini v2.3 (or above) It is recommended to install RDU v4.3 and Gemini v3.0.1 (or above) when upgrading to iDEN v2.4. After installing iDEN v2.4, older RayFish applications, including previous versions of iDEN, Gemini and RDU, will not function on the computer. If previous versions of RayFish applications are needed, it is recommended to use a separate computer or contact customer support for USB driver removal instructions. It is strongly recommended to install iDEN v2.4 without RayFish hardware attached. Users that are upgrading to iDEN 2.4 also need to upgrade the BootLoader and iDEN DSP on their SDRs. For HailStorm, the internal GPS option is disabled. When using iDEN with HailStorm, a PC peripheral GPS (USB or Bluetooth) must be connected for location information. New Features This release of the iDEN Controller adds several new features. A brief description of these new features is provided below:  HailStorm Support –Added support for new HailStorm chassis.  700/800 Harpoon Support –Added support for new 700/800 Harpoon.  Stingray I Internal GPS Support – The iDEN PC Controller now recognizes the SRI internal GPS.  Standard Database View Support – The iDEN PC Controller is now compatible with the new WPG Standard Database View ICD to support future products. Known Issues The following issues were discovered during testing of this software release. These items may be addressed in future software upgrades.  HailStorm SDRs – When connected to a HailStorm, iDEN may occasionally have SDR communication issues on initial startup. Restarting the iDEN application will fix the issue.  GPS Button – The GPS button sometimes shows incorrect states.  PC Peripheral GPS – PC Peripheral may show an enabled external GPS when nothing is connected and/or may not update when adding an external GPS device.  HailStorm and Windows XP – HailStorm has shown intermittent hardware connection issues when iDEN is run on Windows XP. To fix, switch the USB cable to another USB port. This issue is only observed with iDEN running on XP with a HailStorm.  Bluetooth Self-Test – The KingFish Bluetooth self-test fails occasionally.
