I refer to your request dated 12 August 2016, pursuant to the Official Information Act
1982, seeking:

1. "any and all submissions made to the Civil Aviation Act 1990 and Airport
Authorities Act 1966 review that refer to the Airport Authority Act 1966, s.9( 1) (ft)
and the powers thereunder to make bylaws relating to lost property and the
disposal of such property at auction.?

2. ?any complaints in submissions aboutthe obligation on Airport Authorities to
advertise lost property auctions in local newspapers or suggestions in
submissions that this obligation to advertise lost property auctions in local
newspapers either be removed from the legislation or amended?.

The Ministry of Transport did not receive any submissions on the review of the Civil
Aviation Act 1990 and Airport Authorities Act 1966 that related to section 9(1)(ff) of the
Airport Authorities Act. The Ministry of Transport also did not receive any complaints or
suggestions in submissions that related to the obligation of airports to advertise lost
property auctions in local newspapers.

Accordingly, your request is refused under section 18(e) of the Official Information Act,
which relates to information that does not exist.

You have the right under section 28(3) of the Official Information Act to make a complaint
to the Ombudsman about the refusal of information. The address is:
