OFFICIAL INFORMATION ACT 16.34 – ASSAULT ON CAMPUS
I refer to your e-mail dated 2 August 2016, in which you requested:
Documents and emails regarding the planning and implementation of the University of Canterbury's response
to the recent sexual assault on campus.

In the event of a complaint of sexual assault to the University, the University will contact the New Zealand
Police immediately and they perform the investigation. An all student email was sent out by the UC
Communications team following notification of the incident. This is provided overleaf.
Owing to the ongoing Police investigation, the University withholds all further information not already made
available under section 6(c) of the Official Information Act. Enquiries should be directed to the Police.
You have the right, under section 28(3) of the Official Information Act to request the Ombudsman review this
refusal should you wish.
