i conducted the following canvass:
received no answer (appears to be vacant) and Patton- knocked on door,
received no answer. Upon review of Code (marked scout car), the
vehicle is equipped with video/audio, but the MCI en was not captured because
the incident occurred inside the location. The crew also utilized Code
(raid van), which is not equipped with video/audio.

All four (4) casings were recovered and placed on evidence: 1- spent 12
gauge shell casing on 1602040258003, 1- Spent 12 gauge shell casing on
1- spent 12 gauge shell casing on 
and 1- spent 40 cal speer casing on 1602040258006. Also recovered and
con?scated from this location was four (4) baggies of suspected crack cocaine on
1602040258001 (0.4 grams crack cocaine with a street value of $160.00),
multiple packaging baggies on 1602040258002, and con?scated $341.00 in
US Currency on 1602040258007.

There was no property damage or any other injury related to this incident.
Crisnet Report #160204028.1?13 was completed.

Of?cer- removed the pit bull carcass from the location-and
delivered it to Animal Control for disposal.

The followin noti?cations were made at the scene: Lieutenant

bad assigned to Noti?cation Control, Sergeant
assigned to the Sixth Precinct Desk, and Detective
assigned to (318.

I reviewed the in car video with the followin results: This incid was not
captured on video due to position of Of?cer dehicle (code i) and no
audio could be heard. Also at the scene was code 143815, which did not capture
the incident due to the position of the vehicle and no audio could be heard. Code

059841 which is not equipped with audio or video, thus no video/audio is
available. .

Eighth Precinct Special Operations executed a search warrant at 6371
Faust. Eighth Precinct Special 0 tions forced entry into the location. While

when the police entered the ome and ordered him to the ground.
Once on the ground he heard several gun shots but did not
witness the incident. Mr. indicated he is the owner of the
deceased dog and reques the dog be left at the location so he
can make burial arrangements.

i inspected Of?cer weapon and ?rearms card. Of?cer-
was. carrying authorized ammunition and his ?rearms card indicated his last
quali?cation date was on November 20, 2014, and his weapon was last
inspected on November 20, 2014.

Crisnet report 15 01160341 was completed by Of?cer- regarding
this incident.

 

This incident was not captured on video. as Of?cer was in vehicle
code 026606.which is not equipped with audio _or video. Additionally this incident
took place inside B371 Faust. 

 

This investigation revealed Of?cer was being charged by a pit
bull and believing he would be bit discharged a department issued shotgun at
the charging pit bull. The shots aimed at the pit bull took effect. i ?nd Mr.
statements corroborated that several shots were ?red inside the

me, although he did not see what occurred. Lastly. i ?nd. that Of?cer
?acted within the guidelines set in the Detroit Police Directive 304.2 -

. angerous Animals, which states in part. ?An of?cer may shoot a
dangerous and/or rabid animal that is posing an imminent threat of danger to

approaching the direction of the children, barking ferociously. Of?cer
gave verbal commands for the children to get back. Of?cer
observed the dc_>_g_t_o charge at the direction of the children, fearing ort safety
of the children, Of?cer Fun-holstered his department issued 
handgun, observing-that he ad a clear backdrop [free of bystanders] discharged
three (3) rounds in a downward?angle; The dog immediately?changed directions
and ?ed eastbound from the location, unknown from there.

occurrence of events. Of?cerHadvise me that he fired
shots from his department issued an gun, not knowing if any of
the rounds took effect. Of?ce?infomed me that the dog ?ed east from
their location after the ots were Ired. reviewed the video and audio from their
scout car, code I observed the video/audio to be operational the video
marked at 15:38:22 is observed with the vehicle parked to the curb. The camera
did not capture any visual of the shooting or the dog, due to the parking of the
vehicle. At 15:40:23 the audio is heard of the of?cers speaking with the owner of
the dog, with nothing germane to this incident after this segment. Of?ce
directed me to the point of impact of his rounds, observed no blood. I observed
two 2 shell casing from a 40 caliber handgun laying in the mu ere Of?cer
?stated he discharged his weapon. i ordered Of?cer?to recover
the casing and to place them on evidence. I observed no collateral damage to

reviewed the In Car Video of code? at the scene. The vehicie was
parked north of the incident, facing north, displaying no activity with the
interaction of the dog. The microphones were activated. I inspected Of?cer
handgun on scene: DPD Smith/Wesson caliber, serial number
'?cation date August 28, 2014, inspection date February 14, 2015.
Of?cer recovered (2) spent casings placing them on evidence tag 

539774?1 and 539774-2. We were unable to locate the third casing during our
search.

   

 
   

Of?cer- completed crisne ort number 1503140226 and issued citation
number U225-841-15 to Ms or failing to properly secure her dog.

Findings

My investigation uncovered no violation of the Detroit Police Department
Manual Directive: 201.9 - 8 Dangerous Animals, which states: An of?cer may
shoot a dangerous and/or rabid animal that is posing an imminent threat of
danger to the of?cer or others only when bystanders are not in jeopardy. The
witness statement and of?cer admissions support compliance with respect to the
above policy. -

West Parkway on a "Dog Bite." Once on scene the of?cers parked their patrol
vehicle south of the residence. exited their vehicle and made the approach to the
above address. The officers checked their surrounding area, Of?cer
observed the dog on the lawn so ftheir location. As the of?cers approac 
7717 West Parkway. Of?ce observed a brown Pit Bull exit from the rear
yard of 7701 West Pa ay. charging in his direction barking ferociously, Officer

collapsing in front of 7721 West Parkway. where it expired. Of?cerk
immediately noti?ed dispatch via radio for a supervisor, due to both of?cers
discharging their handguns.

On May 8, 2015, at a roxi ately 4:00 responded to the above

I reviewed the in Car Video of code -at the scene. The vehicle was
parked south the incident, facing south-the system stamped at 15:43 shows
Of?cer exiting the vehicle, crossing the view of the camera. At 15:44 i
could hear several shots, nothing further was germane to this investigation,

displaying no activity with the interaction of-the dog.

During the course of my investigation, I determined that the carcass of the dog
would not be conveyed to Animal Control, but would be relinquished to the

neighbor, Mr. - who is the husband of the victim. Mr. stated the
lacerations received were super?cial and that he would confer with the
owner] regarding the medical history of the dog and take the appro na action
accordingly. 

Upon my examination of the scene, all shots were accounted for. I observed
what appeared to be eight (8) impact wounds to the carcass. observed no
impact markings to the ground nor to any structure.

Findings

My investigation uncovered no violation of the Detroit Police Department Manual
mrective: 201.9 - 8 Dangerous Rnimals, which states: An of?cer may shoot a
dangerous and/or rabid animal that is posing an imminent threat of danger to the
of?cer or others only when bystanders are not in jeopardy. The witness
statement and of?cer admissions support compliance with respect to the above
policy.

On Wednesday, May 4, 2016. at approximately 7 l5 pin Sergeant-1 was the Of?cer in Charge ol'cxccuting a Search Warrant at l90l8 Patton, After debrie?ng. each above
member was assigned their designated position. Sergeant?announced crew's presence and purpose. then ordered unforced entry through the front door. The of?cers
proceeded to enter the location when they encountered a large brown dog that chargeer at them. Fearing for his safety and the sa?ey of the other members, Of?cer. ?red
two (2) shot from his department issued shotgun (Remington. Model #870, Serial DPD #26655, l2 GA Pump Shotgun) striking the large brown dog in the body area,
fatally wounded the dog. As the crew continued to clear the residence. Of?cer two (2) pit bulls in the southeast bedroom. The two (2)viciou5 pit boils charged
at Officer- fearing for his safety and the safety of the other members, Of?cer-?red one (i shot from his department issue. shotgun and Sergeant ??red four (4)
shots from his department issued handgun (Smith Wesson 40 CAL, Serial striking the two (2) pit bulls in the body area fatally wounding them. The crew
proceeded to clear and secure the location with no further incidents.

conducted the following canvass: Patton- knocked on door,
received no answer (appears to be vacant). crew made 19010 Patton,
which is a vacant location. The crew checked the location and recovered a
Chinese SKS (AK-47) with an extended magazine (banana clip) with thirty (30)
live rounds. 

All seven (7) casings were recovered and placed on evidence: 1- spent 12
gauge shell casing on 1605040332001, 1- spent 12 gauge shell casing on
1- spent 12 gauge shell casing on 1-
spent 40 cal speer casing on 1605040332004, 1- spent 40 cal speer casing
on 1605040332005, 1- spent 40 cal speer casing on 1605040332006,
1? spent 40 cal speer casing on 1605040332007. Recovered and
con?scated from this location was one (1) digital scale and numerous unused
zips on 1605040332008. Also recovered and con?scated from 19010
Patton was a Chinese SKS (AKA) on 1605040332009 and one extended
magazine containing thirty (30) live rounds on 

There was no property damage or any other injury related to this incident.
Crisnet Report #1605040332.1 was completed.

  

Of?cer removed the three (3) carcasses from the location and
delivered them to Animal Control for disposal.

and Of?cer. was approached from behind by a large brown pit bull. Of?cer-2 attempted to retreat backwards and the dog
nged in an aggressive nature in an attempt to bite him. Officer. drew his department issued Smith and Wesson .40 caliber handgun
erial and ?red five times in the direction of the dog. At that time Of?cer . believed the dog was struck and ran from the
ca. A short time later the dog returned to the area and Mrs-tcok control of the dog. Mrs. - checked th dog for injuries and no injurie
ere found. 

Sgt. m, Working 8-7 3, responded to the location to conduct 21 shots ?red investigation and inspected Of?cer. weapon.
f?cer- weapon had 9 rounds in the magazine and 1 round chambered. Officer- had 2 full magazines in his magazine carrier. I observe
hat appeared to be ?ve strike marks in the ground consistent with the direction Of?cer-stated he ?red at the dog. I checked the area for
out casing along with Officer - and Of?cer -and observed two spent casing in the grass in the area Of?cer- stated he was in when
?red at the dog. The yard was over grown with long grass and weeds and 3 casing were not found. Officer- recovered the 2 spent casing a1

as awoken by the gunshots but did not see or hear anything.

fearing for his safety, dropped the dog stick and ?red two shots striking the dog in rear left side and the other not taking affect.

On Sunday November 1, 2015 at approximately 2030, Scout 8-37 manned by Police Of?cer dame - and Police Of?cer

- badge- of the Eighth Precinct were present at 19402 Burgess.

Scout 8-37 responded to Burgess and Vassor for a report of shots ?red. Scout 8-37 was talking to_in the street in front of 19402
Burgess about the shots ?red in the area. The dog in question rushed out the front door of 19412 Burgoss and ran towards the of?cers barking and
showing aggression. Of?cer.thcn began to peddle away from the dog. While doing so, Of?cer. lost his footing and fell to the ground.
The animal then moved towards of?cer O?iccr-thcn drew his department issued ?rearm and waited for a clear line of ?re. When
the ?eld of ?re was clear, Of?cer then ?red two shots in a downward easterly direction both of which struck the animal. The dog then ran
to the rear of 19412 Burgess and then inside the house. Scout 8-37 then advised dispatch of the shots ?red and requested a supervisor.

1 responded to 19371 Burgess and observed scout 8-37 standing by.



spoke with? the owner of the dog who substantiated scout 8?37'5 account of the events. Ms..also stated that the dog was still alive
and inside of 19412 Burgess and that she did not have the money to get treatment for the dog. Calls were placed to the Michigan Humane Society
and animal control and there was no answer.

All of Of?cer? shots werc accounted for and there was no damage to lives or property. Both of Of?cer- shells were also

were dispatched to 16126 Lindsay on a ?Home Invasion 1 in progress." Once on
scene, the of?cers rked their patrol vehicle south of the residence. Of?cer
and Of?ce exited their vehicle and made their approach to the above
a ress. checking eir surrounding area. The of?cers checked the rear of the
residence, and observed a broken bedroom window. The of?cers continued their
investi ati bserving two males hiding near the gara . The males observed
Of?ce approaching and began to run. Of?ce observing the actions
of the ma es egan a foot pursuit. The males maneuv red over the rear fence
entering into the rear yard of 16127 Gilchrist. Off ntinued his pursuit,
following the path of the two offenders. As Of?c made his descent from the
fence, he encounter a vicious dog. Of?cer observed the to begin
growling, displaying teeth and advancing towards him. Of?cer fearing he
would be injured, removed his department issued handgun and ?red one shot in
a downward angle striking the dog in the face area. The dog immediately egress

Directive: 201.9 - 8 Dangerous Animals. which states: An of?cer may shoot a
dangerous and/or rabid animal that is posing an imminent threat of danger to the

and of?cer (3) admissions, support compiiance with respect to the above policy?

On Monday November 6, 2O 15 at approximately 0145, Scout 8-12 manned by Police Of?cer *badge .and Police
Of?ceMe . of the Eighth Precinct were present at 23405 W. Mo Nichols. 7 
Scout 8-12 responded to a man shot run 23405 Mc Nichols to assist 8-10. Both scouts 8-10 and 8- 12 while canvassing the area for
evidence observed a Pit Bull dog on the side of the roadway "in-front of the aforementioned dWelling of 23405 Nichols with substantial
inj to his head/legs with a large amount of blood coming from his mouth. 8-10 then made noti?cation to Writer 8-72 (Sgt - and 8-71
(Sgt who made the scene. While at the sconce it was determined that the animal needs to be destroyed do to the injury it sustained from
what appeared to be caused by a vehicle. Writer Sgt. -per the Detroit Police Manuel section 201.9 ordered the dog to be destroyed. P.O-
Badge .then removed from the trunk of his scout car #143048 his personally owened shot gun 21 Remington 870

722430 Puritan- As Of?cer- approached the iocation. there was?a blackish bull (in mind: of the dwelling. The pit bull aggressive charged at Of?ce:
showing his teeth and growling. Fearing for her safety and the safety of her crew, Officer - ?red two shots from her department issued shotgun

heard gun shots outside. Mrs. was not able to account for how many shots she heard. rs.-statcd simultaneously she heard a loud noise at the door. the-n

On December 1, 2015, at approximately 2115 hours, Sergeant

Scout 8-2 responded to above location date and time for a dog mauling run. Upon arriving at the location they observed a brown/Mute pitbull on
the front porch. Scout 8-2 tit Ms. -who advised them that the dog had bite both herself and two others. The scout ordered a dog stick and

three shoots from his'deparmicnt issued ?rearm in a downward directioo while facing south, with one round striking the dog in the neck area. The
two missing shots struck the grass and was made evident by the missing grass along side where the dog fell after being shot. Scout 8?2 advised

as checking 15537 Baton for a narcotics complaint. Of?ce_ was the Primary Shotgun Man for our entry. Upon entry into the home
?rst ?oor was cleared with no problems. Of?cer-hen proceeded to the second ?oor to clear that level. Upon reaching the second
oor Of?cer was charged by a white pit bull dog. Of?cer? fearing being bitten by the dog ?red 1 round from his
:partrnent approved shot gun at the dog. The ?rst round missed the dog and struck the ?oor and bottom of the wall. Of?cer then
red at 2nd round striking the dog in the lel?t shoulder. The dog then ?ed under a drawer in a hallway closet. Of?cer had to get onto
6 ground to get a clear shot. Of?cer? ?red one shot from his department issued .40 cal hand gun striking the dog in the
it shoulder. The dog then fled to the bathroom and hid behind the toilet. The dog being in extreme distress Of?cer- ?red one more
not striking the dog in the head killing it. Of?cer?, Of?cer ?and myselngt.-were all behind Of?cer- when this
cident took place.
Sgt. -of the 2nd Precinct Special Operations Unit was on scene at the time ofthe shooting. The home in question was a vacant home in
implete disrepair. 1 could see the impact marks on the wall and ?oor from the ?rst round that missed the dog. The missed round was contained
ithin the home. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th round ali took effect on the animal. All tired rounds were contained within the home causing no damage It
ljacent properties. I noti?ed dispatch of shots ?red. 1 also noti?ed Sgt. - ofNoti?cation and Control and Sgt- 2nd Precinct Desk.
t't'icer? recovered 2 spent casings from his l2 gage shotgun and placed them on evidence. The .40 shell casing could not be found du-
the amount of debris in the home. Of?cer? had 13 live rounds left in his primary magazine and 15 live rounds left in each ofhis
condary magazines. 1 attempted to pull the audio/visual from code 143814. There appeared to be a malfunction in the system and no audio or

On Sunday April 10, 2016 Police Of?cer ?badge- was on duty working Scout 9-5 with his partner Police Of?cer badge .in vehicle code 143002.
oF?cer and Of?cer. responded to a "Shotspotter" run at 14000 Fairmount While at the location gathering information from Mr. - of
about hisstolen vehicle and shots Mr. blackPithull aggresivly charged aLOf?cer. Of?cer ?in feamt?. his own safetyand the

Scene and conducted a canvass for witnesses and any injuries andfor property damage as a result of the ?rearm discharge. There were no injuries reported or damage to any property
found at this time. Of?cer-?red one (1) shot in a downward manner in the direction of the aggressive pitbull, the incident occured on the front lawn of l4000 Fair-mount. One
{1 i spent casing was recovered on the front porch of 14000 Fainnount in relation to the area Of?cer? indicated he was standing at the time of the discharge. I Sergeant

vehicle code M3002 is equipt with a functioning in?car video system, however the discharge was not captured on video. due to the position of the Scout car. A review of the video
shows the scout car pull up and park down from 14000 Fairrnount. The Of?cer press the record button on the body mics and the incident is captured on audio. While gathering
information from Mr.? the video shows a black pitbull run from across the street in front of the Scout car, toward [4000 Fairmount in a aggresive manner: you can hear a
pales voice state, (Of?ce. you better get your dog", and then what appears to be a ?rearm discharge is heard, and the pitbull is seen running east on ainnount,

I searched the area and did not recover the spent round, but the casing was recovered and placed on evidence by Officer Tag#559967?L in Crisnet# 1604100181.

SULLS. ONE BROWN AND ONE GREY. IN AN ENCLOSED WAITWG AREA (BUS STOP), APPROXIMATELY (THE 
AREAIS HOSPITAL EMPLOYEES WAITING To TAKE A SHUTTLE BUS TO WORK). THE OFFICERS
ATTEMPTED TO LURE THE DOGS INTO THEIR SCOUT CAR. BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL THE OFFICERS REQUESTED A DOG
STICK, AND I, EMF. BADGE.- WORKING SCOUT 12-70. RESPONDED WITH A DOG STICK. I GAVE THE
DOG PO WHO ATTEMPTED TO PLACE THE DOG NOOSE AROUND THE BROWN NECK. WHEN
no TIEMFTED To PLACE THE NOOSE AROUND THE BROWN NECK. BOTH DOGS SHOWED THEIR TEETH.

On Monday, February 15, 2016, at approximately 04:20 AM, scout 7-6, manned by Of?cer? badge -and-
.-, badge ceived a police nm to 4839 Concord, regarding a viscious dogthat bit the owner-and is nowrunnin; npand downthe 

street. Of?ce and ?responded to the above police run and upon their arrival interviewed the owner, Ms. -suffering from

injury to her right hand (dog bite). EMS medic #l4b responded to the location and treated Mia-for her injury and released her at the scene.
Ms.?pointed out her dog, a mixed breed shepherd and itbull now located in her rear yard of Of?cers- and-
with the assistance of scout 7-10, manned by Of?cers badge. and gimme-observed the animal to
he very aggressive in the yard. Of?cers _made several attempts to use a department issued dog stick to
capture the animial dog with no success. Each time the of?cers advanced towards the animal dog with the dog stick it became more aggressive.
The animal dog was not contained in the rear yard, was not secure and free to exit the yard and attack any citizen. Lt. badge

working scout 7-60 re3ponded to the scene to make an assessment on actions to be taken for citiZens safety. Lt. -reccived
oermission from the owner Ma?o put the animal/ dog down after attempting assistance from Animal Control and the Humane Society with
negative results. Of?cer then ?red one shot from his department issued WP 40 Cal. SRN- which took effect striking the
mime] dog while in the rear yard of the above location. Lt. checked the surrounding area to ensure that on persons was injured from the
one shot ?red by Of?cer- Noti?cations was then made to Noti?cation and Control's Lt. .and Sgt. - Also a message was

:exted to Capt. - detailing the incident. The crew of scout 7?6 disposed of the carcass at Animal Control and prepared CRISNET report

On 23 March 2015 at approximately 0230 hours, the Special Response rim doiioy?d'io?s?afch the o?f 5911i ?Joy?Ro?ad: 
Lieutenan- badge,- assigned to the DPD Special Response Team lead the primary entry team in the number one position,

up a ladder, breached and cleared the window, once inside the team began to clear the second level apartment. Lt. encountered a gray
colored pit bull, weighing approximately 70 pounds. coming from an adjacent room, at that moment the pit bull took and aggressive stance and
began to move toward him. Lt. - fearing for his own safety, as well as the safety of the team, con?rmed that his backdrop was free of any
bystanders, ?red (1) shot from his department issued Siggauer P226, 9mm pistol (serial the shot took effect and the pit bull retreated
back into the room across from him. As Lt. -cntered to clear the room. the pit bull reappeared and aggressively char ed toward him.

Lt. ?red (2) more shots; these shots took effect collapsing the pit bull to the floor. The dog owner was identi?ed as

Police Of?cer, badge- currently assigned to the Special Response Team, the team
was assisting Detroit Police Homicide with the execution of a search warrant on 24 August 20l5, at
approximately 1335 hours. P.O.-was assigned to the point position on the entry team. After the
door was breached P.O. ?cntercd the location and encountered a vicious German shepherd that

was barking and showing his teeth. The German shepherd (approximately 55 to 65 pounds) advanced
toward and the entry team in an agressivc manner. P.O. - fearing that himseif and

the team was in imminent danger, checked his backdrop and fired two (2) rounds from his DPD issued
Remington shotgun, serial _which took effect striking the dog in the upper chest area. The German
shepherd fell to the floor and expired. Animal Control, code D33 conveyed and disposed of the animal.
Both shell casings were recovered and placed on evidence and stored at the Eastern District. No other people
were harmed in the execution of the search warrant.

?er approximately an hour and a half of attempting to capture the dog, and observing its behavior as an immediate threat to the of?cers and the occupants of the
:arby homes, I advised the occupants o_and -Burt Rd to take cover in the far corner of their houses, as the dog moved to the rear of I2824 Burt Rd.
t?ticer- then retrieved his personally owned, department approved and inspected 4-shot Remington 870 Shotgun ScriaI-. Of?cer -then
'ed two shots from the backyard of 12830 Burt Rd at a don/award angle at the dog, that was in the rear of 12824 Burt Rd, a?er assuring the area was clear. Both
tots took effect and the dog deceased. We then conducted a canvas of the area and I ensured the occupants of both homes were okay.

Vlr. further stated the dogs were always loose and attacking people in the neighborhood. The officer walked to 2052] Hull which was two

muses north. As the of?cers approached the house they noticed three pit bull dogs: one was black and white and one was brown, these two were
oose, the third was white and tied to the fence by the side door. The two loose dogs ran up to Officer-and walked with him to the front door.
Jf?ccr- knocked on the front door for several minutes in order to notify the owner of the dogs, while Of?cer?stood by watching the
logs. 

[here was no answer at the door. The of?cers concluded, they had to capture the loose dogs and convey them to Detroit Animal Control, because
if the nuisance they constituted to the neighborhood. Of?cer-went to the scout car and retrieved the dog stick. As Of?cer-walked
town the driveway, the pit bull dogs started barking and growing aggressively at him. Both pit bull dogs bit Officer? softly on his left leg.
Both dogs. then bit Of?cer?more aggressively on his left log a second time. Of?cer -fearing for his safety, drew the department issued
*?treartn Smith wesson. model 40, serial out of the holster pointing in a downward direction at the dogs and made sure that
here were no of?cers or citizens behind the dog. Of?cer.discharged seven (7) department issued Speer .40 caliber Smith Wesson

l. Sergeant badge of the Eleventh Precinct
responded to the scene? and conducted an investigation. I inspected both of?cers'
?rearms at the scene and they apieared to be fully functional. I observed seven

 

(7) rounds missing from Of?cer magazine and two (2) rounds from
Of?cer magazine. I was ab _o Ind all, but 'one of the spent casings in
the driveway ?of 20521 Hull. was unable to locate the missing spent casing,
because of the snow that was piled up. canvassed the area behind the
shooting location. No citizen was injured and there was no property damage.
During the canvass the legal owner of the pit bull dogs arrived on scene Ms.

The investigation concluded that the actions taken by Of?cer?and
Of?cer- Were consistent with DPD manual Series 300 Chapter 304,
Directive 2 Paragraph 4 Sub-section 7 titled Dangerous Animals which states.
An of?cer may shoot a dangerous and/or rabid animal that is posing an imminent
threat of danger to the of?cer or others and only when bystanders are not in

jeopardy

also made the location as backup. Per dispatch. Animal Control and the Michigan llumnne Society were not available to respond to the scene.
Waste Management responded to the location and retrieved the remains of the pithull. Video and audio was not retrieved at the scene due to
technical dif?culties ?Aillt vehicle code l43045 and 143047 which were both present at the scene. The shots were tired outside the range view
ol? both scout ear cameras. A request has been made for audio/video.

On Monday July 4, 2016, at approximately, 5:40 pm, Scout 11-80 manned by Police Of?cers ibadge - and Police Of?cer:

Anglia and the of?cers effected a traf?c stop at that location, a person exited the stolen white Chevrolet and was placed in custody and placed in
the rearof the scout car it- W20. Scout l1-30 manned by Of?cers 7 badge-and 7' badge-
also arrived at scene to asSist soout 1 1-80. Of?cers 'And-arreSted a [Ml 
Southfield, MI, 48075, who was also in the stolen vehicle who advised Of?cers and ?that another wanted person had run in 17906
Anglia who was in the stolen vehicle with them._ Officer- placed Mr. ?in the rear of their scout car and then advised Of?cers
and .that another wanted person ran into 17906 Anglin. While other of?cers went to the front door of above location to check for
mother wanted person, (Of?cers?went to the rear of 17906 Anglin. Of?cer- climbed the steps of the back porch checked and
found the door unlocked, never going inside he opened the back door then walked back down the step of the back porch and waited for someone
to exit. A ?black and tan dog came running out the same back door that Of?cers?tad open nto the back porch. The dog began barking
and growling and showing his teeth at the officer while standing on the back porch and then charged at Of?cer who was standing on
the grass at the bottom step of the porch. Of?cer ?'thcn ?red two rounds from his department issued weapon striking the dog twice and
the dog then ran back into the house. Of?cer ?weapon is a Smith Wesson, model MELP 40 caliber, serial 
number 2646. The rounds were department issued 40 caliber Specs Smith Wesson ammunition. Of?cer-dvised dispatch of the

Scout 11-80 was driving code 133064, I attempted to review the video of the
incident at the scene, however no video was recorded as this incident occurred
on the driver?s side of the scout car in the back yard of out of the line of sight of
the. camera, the camera was pointing southbound Anglin and the incident
occurred sixty feet East of where the scout car was parked on the street
however the dog barking and shots ?red were recorded on Off cerF
body microphone which he had in the ON position which occurre at 1743
hours.
