The Democratic and Republican Parties WaynegiCounty October 20, 2016 JOINT STATEMENT The cornerstone of our country is faith in democracy and the democratic process. America is the standard-bearer for the world in terms of reliable elections and peaceful transitions of leadership. We rely on our electoral process to produce sound results based on our collective votes. To lose faith in this process is to question the veiy foundation of the United States. Our respective candidates are passionate and dedicated but the People are endowed with the authority to decide between them. Nothing is more serious and that is why stringent procedures are in place to protect your vote. Elections are held at the county level and are overseen by the county election board. This board is comprised of three people: the county clerk and an appointment by each party. The chairmen of both parties approve all of the ballots. A vendor that has been state? certi?ed and selected by the election board programs each voting machine. These machines are never connected to the Internet, never left unguarded, and are tested by election board appointees. This election is not rigged. The decision has not been set. Your vote is your own. We may disagree on many issues but the Democratic and Republican Parties of Wayne County, Indiana are united in our resolve: we have faith in our democratic process and We will accept the will of the American People. ?ag/BM Dakota Collins, Chairman Dennis A.
