2015 Science State Snapshot Report Ohio Overall Results ■ Grade 4 Public Schools ■ Achievement-Level Percentages and Average Score Results ◾ In 2015, the average score of fourth-grade students in Ohio was 157. This was higher than the average score of 153 for public school students in the nation. ◾ The average score for students in Ohio in 2015 (157) was not significantly different from their average score in 2009 (157). ◾ The percentage of students in Ohio who performed at or above the NAEP Proficient level was 41 percent in 2015. This percentage was not significantly different from that in 2009 (41 percent). ◾ The percentage of students in Ohio who performed at or above the NAEP Basic level was 81 percent in 2015. This percentage was not significantly different from that in 2009 (79 percent). This percentage was not significantly different from that in 2011 (38 percent) and in 2009 (37 percent). ◾ The percentage of students in Ohio who performed at or above the NAEP Basic level was 72 percent in 2015. This percentage was not significantly different from that in 2011 (73 percent) and in 2009 (73 percent).
