EXECUTIVE ORDER NUMBER 25 CLERK
SUPREME COURTOFALABAMA .

WHEREAS, in accordance with the Alabama Supreme Court?s Order of
October 24, 2016, in Roy S. Moore, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of
Alabama v. Alabama Judiciary Inquiry Committee, Case No. 1160002, and with
my agreement as Governor, the Alabama Supreme Court ordered that on
Thursday, October 27, 2016, at 3:00 the Clerk of the Alabama Supreme
Court, in the presence of my representative, interested individuals, and press,
drew the names of judges from a pool from all retired appellate justices and
judges, retired circuit court judges, and district court judges;

 

 

 

 

 

WHEREAS, the Clerk of the Alabama Supreme Court placed the names
of the 50 judges so drawn on a list in an order in which their names were drawn;

WHEREAS, the Clerk of the Alabama Supreme Court transmitted to my
Of?ce the names of the seven (7) judges who have been selected and who are
willing to serve;

NOW, THEREFORE, based upon these considerations, and for good
and valid reasons related thereto, 1, Robert Bentley, Governor of the State of
Alabama, by the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the State
of Alabama, do hereby name as Associates Justices the seven (7) judges who will
constitute the Special Supreme Court that will hear the appeal of Chief Justice
Roy S. Moore, Case No. 1160002, as follows:

H. Edward McFerrin
Robert G. Cahill
William R. King
James H. Reid, Jr.
Clardy Bright
Ralph A. Ferguson, Jr.
John D. Coggin



BE IT ORDERED, that these judges shall constitute the Special Court
that will hear the appeal of Chief Justice Roy S. Moore, Case No. 1160002.
