Governor Little,   We currently have 24 Idaho children enrolled and receiving Epidiolex, the cannabis oil from GW Pharmaceuticals. In May we requested and were granted 15 additional spots and are in the process of filling those now. Although research from the Idaho program has not yet been released, the national trials are showing some effectiveness with some types of childhood seizure disorders and the medication is being reasonably well tolerated. As a result of the success of the trials, GW is seeking FDA approval and the talk that I’m hearing is that it may be approved some time in 2017.   If there is any more specific information that you need, I’m happy to try to obtain that for you. May I ask, are you hearing anything specific about possible legislation next session? Do you know if this will be another attempt at CBD oil or a more expanded medical marijuana bill?   Warm regards,   Elisha Figueroa, LMSW, CPS Administrator Idaho Office of Drug Policy   Elisha.figueroa@odp.idaho.gov (208)854-3040       From: Brad Little Sent: Wednesday, July 13, 2016 6:55 PM To: Elisha Figueroa Cc: Tammy Perkins Subject: progress report.   Elisha & Tammy, Hope all is well. Can you send me an update on our progress to address the cannabis medicinal research project?  The last I heard there was about 20 patients.  Are we working with other states?  My guess is next session there will be pressure to expand the availability of cannabis.  Thanks Elisha   Brad     Brad Little Idaho Lieutenant Governor State Capitol 700 W.
