The current promotion policy for Frankston Middle School. as stated on page 43 in the 2013-2014 Student Handbook. requires students to pass three of four academic classes (Language Arts, Science, Social Studies and Mathematics) with at least a 70 for the year in order to be eligible for promotion to the next grade. For the 1" semester of 2013-2014 school year, Alston Jeffus recorded the following failing grades in the these classes: Language Arts Semester 1 Grade:64 Math Semester 1 Grade: 66 History Semester 1 Grade: Science Semester 1 Grade: With the above stated grades recorded for the ?rst semester, to pass to the next grade level, it will be necessary for her/him to record a grade in that subject the second semester high enough between the two semesters to average a score above a 70 for the year. Please arrange for your student to take advantage of tutorials with his-"her individual teacher (available in the A.M. or RM. according to mutually agreeable times and dates), monitor homework assignments and daily classroom work, three week progress reports as well as nine week report cards. Also, the State of Texas requires students to be in attendance at least 90% during the school year, to be eligible for promotion. With the state?s current attendance policy, a student cannot be promoted unless he/she meets attendance requirements, even if they are passing the subject.
