Dan-- Is this the "occupy" action you mentioned? http://WW ,daiivcal .org/20t /l Hopefully the protesters Will stay within the law, but you guys need to knovv that these demonstrations are often gut-run by those not affiliated With the campus. I saw this in person during the violent demonstrations of the early l970's. Be especially aware of involvement of organizations such as the New Black Panthers and their usual "socialist" sympathizers. Also be on the look out for trouble makers from Cal State SF (they played a major role in the riots of the l970's). As it was back then, expect to see anti-semitism rear its ugly head. Be sure to keep track of any UC faculty members who encourage this nonsense and any resulting violence (this has everything to do With academic accountability, where I think you and I disagree). According to the Daily Californian (see above) a march is planned on the Bank of America (I presume the one located on Telegraph Ave.). This sounds like a build up to what happened at the Peoples Park riots back in E969 I hope that doesn't happen this time around. More on media relations and Steve I obs later.
