CLAIM AGAINST THE LICENSE COMMISSIONER OF MOBILE COUNTY, ALABAMA THE COUNTY OF MOBILE, ALABAMA AND THE MOBILE COUNTY COMMISSION Personally appeared before me. the under signed authority in and for said County in said State, Victor Crawford, who being me ?rst duly sworn on oath, makes this af?davit pursuant to the provisions of Section 6-5-20 ofthe Code of Alabama 1975 by stating the following: Prior to my wrongful termination as outlined below, I was employed by the Mobile County Commission to perform certain computer program services for the Mobile County License Commission. In August of 20 1 3, Kim Hastie directed me to help her employee Brad Bray to query the License Commissioner?s motor vehicle registration database for all the names and email addresses of Motor Vehicle registrants in the city of Mobile, AL for purposes of giving the information to the Sandy Stimpson for Mayor of Mobile campaign. In January 2014, Joe Ruffer. the County Engineer, called and told me 1 had to pay for Kim Hastie?s ?ling fee for the republican primary for Revenue Commissioner. When I balked at the request, he stated ?you better do as she wants or she?s gonna ?re your motherfucking ass?. I paid it. In February of 2014. Kim Hastie?s political consultant, Strateco, sent me an invoice for $2,500 by email stating that Kim Hastie says you?re going to take care ofthis. I paid it out of my pocket In March of 2014. Kim Hastie?s political consultant, Strateco. sent me another $.2500 invoice saying that Kim Hastie says you?re taking care of this. I refused to pay this one. In April of2014, I received another invoice for $2,500 and a reminder that I had not paid the previous invoice. That same day, Ramona Yeager, the deputy License Commissioner, came to my of?ce and said ?you haven?t been billing your expenses. You need to bill your expenses. Mrs. Hastie wants you to bill your expenses. Are you going to bill your expenses like Mrs. Hastie wants?? I replied yes ma?am. I immediately called and met with Charles Andrew, United States Marshall, and explained everything to him. Charles Andrews referred me to the US Attorney?s of?ce. The US Attorney then noti?ed the FBI. I informed the FBI about Kim Hasties giving the motor vehicle registant information to the Sandy Stimpson campaign and I cooperated with the FBI in billing Mobile County for 4 payments of $2.500 each and paying the political consultants, Strateco. In 2014, the civil action of the Driver?s Privacy Protection Act was started. In June of 201 5, Kim Hastie and her deputy, Ramona Yeager, were tried in Federal Court. I testi?ed for the prosecution of Kim Hastie. i dF?tH 13 4:53pr Kim Hastie was convicted of violating the Driver?s Privacy Protection Act. After the trial: 0 I was no longer invited to attend the usual conferences which help to enable me to maintain work pro?ciency; 0 Kim Hastie and Ramona Yeager stopped communicating with me which interfered with my ability to effectively perform my work; 0 Kim Hastie refused to sign my invoices and only after pleading with the county administrator, John Pafenbach, did Kim Hastie sign my invoices with a disclaimer that read "only on advice of counsel;" 0 I was not allowed to be a party to the telephone conferences with the Alabama Dept of Revenue, motor vehicle division, which interfered with my ability to perform; and was no longer invited to the usual status meetings which interfered with and obstructed my ability to perform my work. In December of2015, was given notice oftermination after 26 years with Mobile County.
